Have you ever seen the frozen faerie of the bluish and yellowish ice forms between the fearsome rocks in the tunnel of lacy snowy trees? It’s a must! Just join us for a day hike to Korouoma canyon and Riisitunturi national park.
Riisitunturi is located 150 kilometers from Rovaniemi. After about a 2 hours drive from Rovaniemi our guide will introduce you to the beauty of the pristine Lappish forest. The park is a stunning hiking destination.
After the loop hike at the National park we are going to deep dive in the gorgeous Korouoma canyon and the meanders of the river Korojoki. You can rest for about an hour or admire the landscape while we drive you to the gorge.
The canyon is a reserved area with 14 big & small completely Frozen waterfalls, We will spend 2 hours and see the three most scenic waterfalls.
Your guide will expose you to local species and teach you more about the environment as you stroll through this Taiga forest.

Korouoma Canyon
The canyon is a reserved area with 14 waterfalls. We will have 1.5 hours hiking to see the two most scenic waterfalls and 1 hour BBQ lunch.
Riisitunturi National Park
4 kilometers loop hike to the top where are the fluffy trees and scenic view. The snow crown loads in winter are the main attraction creating a fairyland. Is also known among nature photographers worldwide for its photogenic white forests.

3.00Strengths: incredible landscapes Weak points: hiking in a “race against time” , all too quickly, no time to appreciate this discovery. Even to eat, barbecue finished in 20 minutes top chrono, 2 breads 2 sausages and 3 dumplings Uncomfortable car, fast driving, got in the ditch. Possible to make these hikes by yourself, just need a car to go there

5.00Our day was amazing - it was well coordinated and we enjoyed the whole experience. It was more than 10 hours with the car time and two hikes, and we were grateful to get to see such spectacular views. We also loved the BBQ lunch. While we weren't expecting this, it ended up being just the two of us on the tour with our guide, which made for a special experience.

5.00The excursion to Riisintunturi/Korouoma was wonderful! The only agency that allows you to see both places in the same day. The transport was on time at the appointed time a few days before. Also appreciated the barbecue among the trees of Korouoma. Everything perfect, A special thanks to our guide Atanas who was the best. Super recommended!

5.00Truly recommend Riisitunturi hiking during your stay in Rovaniemi. I can tell that it is the most stunning sunrise I have seen in my life. The scenery was breathtaking! The course was easy and no special gear needed. Tour guide Vess is super informative and you’ll never get bored during hiking. You’ll never regret to add Riisitunturi hiking in your Korouoma Waterfall itinerary.

5.00Well above my expectations as my partner is usually very cold blooded person and hardly stands the cold weather. After few months of negotiation finally we went to visit Finland and the waterfalls were one of the best experiences that we had in ten days. Highly recommended, even the cold weather is not so frightening when well layered up.
