  I really hate to leave a negative review but our private wine tour was so disappointing. We were visiting the area on a Sunday and I spoke to several private tour guides who told me it would be difficult to arrange a tour but they could do it. Rebeca seemed the most responsive so although she was more expensive than others, we went with her. She said it would only be possible to do a 1/2 day tour due to it being Sunday. We agreed to start at 9am. She then told me that we needed to meet the guide at a location other than where we were staying. After that, she moved up the start time of our tour. She said one of the wineries requested this and we could not change it. So we started a wine tour at 8:45am, which is a bit early for me to be drinking wine. Our guide was very nice and gave us information abt the area as we drove to our first stop. The first place was a small, local winery and we enjoyed it. However as we were relaxing and enjoying the tasting, our guide suddenly was in a hurry for us to leave. We did not get to finish our wine and it was rushed. We were rushed to the next winery. When we got there we wanted to use the bathroom and were repeatedly told to hurry. Well turns out, the private tour we paid for, took us to a group tour and the group tour had already started. So we joined a large group after their tour had begun. If we wanted to be on a group tour, I could have easily arranged this. We did not enjoy this at all. After the tour, there was a tasting set up. We probably sat down for 15min and the guide asked if we were ready to go. Everyone else on the tour was still tasting and looking around etc. we were rushed out. We wanted to stop and take pictures and the guide insisted that he take them With his phone and that he would send them to us. It’s a week later and I still have not gotten them. We were rushed back to the car and then rushed back home - well not home but a ten minute walk away from where we were staying. It was clear the tour guide had someplace to be. In the end, it was super disappointing and not worth what we paid. We have done private wine tours in several other regions and have always had a positive experience. This felt like it was sloppily arranged and we were an after thought. Clearly, they did not want to be giving a tour on a Sunday. We wish they would have just told us that and we could have used our limited time in the area to better use.

  The Rioja Like a Native wine tour was one of the best experiences of our vacation in Spain. We enjoyed delicious wines, tasty food, and tour guides with a wealth of knowledge about the area. Our final stop was especially memorable with the warmest hosts – Fito, Robert, Rebeca, and Taino – at their beautiful home, where we were treated to a wonderful dinner and wine tasting.

  This is not your typical race to a bunch of wineries and drink as much wine as possible. If you love wine, history, and spending time with great people, this is the tour for you. We are so happy we met Rebeca and Robert. The wineries we visited were different in their methods. It was interesting to see how wine making has changed over time. Great to learn about the processes in this region. The wine was phenomenal and lunch was a delicious traditional Rioja dish. We will definitely tour with them again if we make it back to Rioja.

  We had a fantastic day with Fito, Robert and Rebecca. We were picked up at our hotel in Logrono and collected 3 more people and then headed to the first winery. I have to say everything went smoothly. We were in some beautiful and unique wineries and had a wonderful time. We had a beautifully home cooked meal with Fito , Rebecca and Robert and it was certainly memorable and great fun. We had a great group of people on our tour as well which made it even more enjoyable. All in all , it was a great day out.

  Absolutely the best wine tour ever. 100% worth it. Super friendly host and really experienced in the matter of wine making. I recommed it and encourage everyone to go and experience a day learning and tasting good wine with friends.

  The team at Rioja Like a Native, led by Rebecca did an incredible job organizing our custom tour of the Rioja wine region. We thoroughly enjoyed our day. Rebecca was warm and welcoming from the very first email exchange. At the same time she was professional the very attentive to the details. Our visit to Rioja was one part of a Basque Country trip. She was able to select a guide in San Sebastián to take us through the coastal countryside. She also made arrangements for a driver so that everything flowed seamlessly.   My friend and I were walking the EL Camino and planned a wine tour break. Rebecca and her husband were amazing. The tour to 2 wineries and then to their private site was the BEST EVER!. They cooked for us and taught us so much about wine. We ABSOLUTELY loved it!!

• Very disappointing and overpriced

  I thought this was massively overpriced. Booked a private tour. But only the first half was private. The first 2 wineries were great. The lunch was at the tour organizers house. I was expecting it to be at winery restaurant. That was followed by a lecture from her husband about vines outside their house and then into their basement to do a blind tasting of some wines that they had bought from another winery. The afternoon was not what I was expecting. It was hugely overpriced for a half day tour in 2 wineries and then an afternoon at the tour organizers house. Sure I could have just stayed home and did that! Also wasn’t the full private tour experience. She also insisted on cash payment. Very inconvenient when it was over eur 1600!! I’d recommend the half day tour, but honestly you are wasting your time doing the full day! Did I mention that I felt that it was overpriced?
