Our guide Lim was too-notch ! He was very enthusiastic about sharing the city’s history as well as its current highlights and realities. He provided so much interesting and insightful information! He began by giving us a great orientation to Penang and Malaysia, including some maps. The walk took us through the key historical points, and along the way he answered our wide range of questions about education, government, culture, etc. We love to walk so he took us to many spots and it was a good multi-hour walk (plus a hop on the free local shuttle), but I know he can adjust depending on your interests and stamina. Also he was very thoughtful with water and toilet breaks. And because it was so hot, he introduced us to our first cendol, which we now can’t get enough of! This tour was definitely a highlight of our time in Penang! If you can, book this for your first day so you can benefit from all the info, plus local tips on food and other sights that he shares!
