Start your day with a convenient transfer service from your hotel. Your hike starts at Kinidaros, a scenic village nestled amid marble quarries. As you hike all the way down to the river, the views of the nearby mountains as they blend with the deep blue of the Aegean are breathtaking!
As soon as you reach the riverbanks, the landscape changes completely. The air is cooler, shady spots abound, and vegetation is rioting next to abandoned watermills, lagoons, and small waterfalls, while crabs and water turtles make their way at the water’s edge next to oleander bushes and plane trees.
The trail ends in Eggares, an old, quiet farming village, where you’ll have the chance to visit one of Naxos’s oldest remaining olive mills, dating back to at least the late 1800s when it pressed locally-grown olives for the village community. At Eggares, we’ll share a great, leisurely meal at one of the village’s best traditional tavernas.
Then our transport will take you back to your accommodations!

5.00We thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful 4 hour hike and lunch at a local tavern in the rural area of Naxos. Can’t say enough about our guide, David, who was both knowledgeable and passionate about the history and nature of Naxos. All in all a great experience!

5.00Great tour and very well organised. David, Anastasia and team were great. The whole walk is well off the beaten tourist track. Also great to visit the Olive Oil museum and local taverna at the end. I originally booked the canoe trip but due to high winds this was cancelled and pleased that I booked this instead. Excellent communication and very responsive to emails. Thanks again.

5.004+ mile walk through nature and mountains ending in a adorable little village. Olive oil store was nice - staff was amazing. Our tour guide David was amazing as well and shared many facts about Naxos and the islands history.
It’s a must do hiking experience

5.00Wonderful hiking experience with a nice visit to Eggares Olive Press and great, delicious lunch at next door tavern. We started out from Kinidaros and walked about 4 hours all the way to Eggares. The view was amazing, absolutely beautiful. Our tour guides, Nick and Nektarios were very kind and thoughtful. They took good care of our group, making sure everyone is having a great time. Highly recommended tour.
A wonderful experience! Guided by nice, local people who love what they do.

5.00This was an excellent activity! It's a great way to hike the beauty of the island in routes that would be very hard to figure out solo. David was excited and knowledgable (his background is in history and archaeology), telling stories of wild herbs and historical ruins. This tour really brought Naxos history and present to life in a way that is hard without a local guide. The island is beautiful, and the food at the end was excellent. The best way to experience Naxos for a day.
Outstanding hike with incredible views!! Nick and Nektarios took amazing care of us and shared wonderful stories.

5.00We loved the stories and history of the area. Took a bunch of pictures of the amazing landscape and loved the olive museum and lunch after the hike. We would highly recommend Trekking Hellas Naxos to anyone coming to Naxos.

5.00The hike was incredible. Our guides David and Nick were very friendly, informative and experienced. We really enjoyed seeing a side of Naxos that we would have otherwise never experienced. They told us about the history of the land and the Greek mythology that gave rise to the names of the places we visited. We picked fruit, smelled fresh herbs, saw wildlife and finished the hike with a visit to an olive museum where we tried fresh olive oils and desserts. After the olive museum David and Nick took us to a local restaurant and we had the most delicious and authentic greek meal we have ever had. The meal was prepared from ingredients grown on the restaurant owners property! We hiked as a family with our teenage children and we all agreed that this excursion was one of our favourite during any holiday that we have taken. Would highly recommend.

5.00This was such a beautiful and informative hike, we would HIGHLY recommend this tour to anyone on Naxos. It is not too strenuous, and really helps you appreciate the history and culture on the island. Being able to see all of the different settlements as you walk from the island interior towards the coast and how they developed was mind blowing. The meal we shared after the hike was one of the best we had on our entire trip.
Highly recommend for outdoor lovers!

5.00We really enjoyed this tour! The hike was beautiful and we had a great experience with Nick, our guide. He was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of local information as well as Greek history and mythology with us. This hike is somewhat challenging, which we liked! The local tavern where we had lunch was charming and the owner prepared several vegan dishes for us with local produce. Don’t miss this tour when you visit Naxos!
