The Thai cooking class starts at the local Khao Lak market. Here you will choose the ingredients for your Thai dishes, learn about Thai herbs and spices and catch a glimpse of the daily hustle and bustle of local market life. It's time to prepare and cook your dishes. This is where the fun really begins. The cooking chef Apple will teach you how to prepare your ingredients the Thai way. Starting with basic curry pastes and Thai seasonings, then cooking techniques before finally creating your impressive Thai meal. After learning to cook your Thai food there is one more important step in creating a Thai meal to impress your friends. You need to present it in an appetising manner and you will even learn some simple food carving tricks. Then you all dine together in true Thai style and try all the other delicious dishes the class has cooked. I’m getting hungry just thinking about this. All the fresh ingredients which are used for the Khao Lak Thai cooking class are sourced locally, fresh from the daily market. You will shop with no-plastic bags. Any left over food waste is turned in compost which is used in the herb garden at Riverside.

5.00My wife and I had an absolutely incredible time at Riverside Thai Cooking Class with Apple, and I can honestly say the experience exceeded our already-high expectations. The adventure started by Apple picking us up at our hotel and driving to the local market, where Apple walked us through the stalls to buy ingredients for the dishes we selected to cook. But she didn't just grab items and go — she went above and beyond, taking the time to show us different ingredients up close, letting us smell them, explaining their Thai names, and even telling us which ones we could find back home so we could recreate the dishes later. That market tour alone was worth the visit. From there, Apple brought us to her home, where she showed us the fresh herbs and ingredients growing right in her own garden. Her outdoor kitchen is absolutely stunning — set in a gorgeous location that made the whole experience feel special. It's the kind of setting you couldn't design any better. Apple has a gift for teaching. She made every step of the lesson fun, engaging, and easy to follow, no matter your skill level. Her passion for Thai cooking is contagious, and you can tell she genuinely loves sharing it with others. And the best part? We got to sit down and eat everything we made — and it was delicious. There's something so satisfying about enjoying a meal you've prepared yourself, especially when it tastes that good. If you're in Khao Lak, do yourself a favor and book this class. Apple's warmth, knowledge, and attention to detail make Riverside Thai Cooking Class a highlight you won't forget. We would do it again in a heartbeat.

5.00I cannot speak highly enough of this cooking experience which started with a very educational and engaging market tour with Apple learning about the vast Thai produce. I attended several cooking classes in Khao Lak and what I loved most about Riverside was the opportunity to observe the cooking techniques and to eat the dishes of all seven students. Everyone selected a dish and we all engaged in observing (sometimes assisting) the prep/cooking process. After all the dishes were done, we ate family style tasting all the different dishes. This increased the VALUE of the class significantly, as in most classes, you only taste 1-2 dishes. Riverside ensures your dish has enough quantity for all of the class to taste. Also unique and WONDERFUL was that everyone made 2 spring rolls (savory + banana/dark chocolate) which was fun and, again, added more value to the class. The class was highly organized and efficient in addition to being educational and wonderfully delicious. The cooking and eating space was spacious and comfortable.

5.00We had the most incredible time doing the cookery course and market tour with Apple. It all began with a very engaging and friendly booking process over WhatsApp with Apple herself. We chose the dishes that we each wanted to cook in advance, this was great, because we all got to try each others dishes too. Apple picked us up from our hotel and took us straight to the market in her very cool and comfortable mpv. The market was great fun- a feast for the senses…a chance to buy a few foodie things to take home too. We then went to Apple’s house, where she has made a beautiful cookery school, clean, organised and well cooled with lots of fans. Apple explained each dish brilliantly and we all got busy making and sharing our cookery experience. As gluten free, we didn’t miss out at all and Apple went to a lot of trouble to cater for all of the dietary requirements- she was really fabulous and reassuring about this. We then all got to eat our dishes together, it was a FEAST) we loved everything that we tried and were so well looked after by Apple and her lovely two helpers. Honestly the best activity and we would go again and again - if it was slightly closer for us! Thank you Apple…we loved our day and are so impressed with the fabulous cookery school that you have created.

The best Thai food I’ve ever eaten. I thoroughly recommend this experience. Well done Apple and team.

We got a lot of information about all the ingredients during our visit to the food market, tasting of fruit etc. Once in place, everything was well organized and arranged. We received clear instructions and help when we needed it. Incredibly good food that we cooked together and got to enjoy.

5.00Well organised and friendly interactive experience from start to finish. Making the various Thai dishes from the basic ingredients was so informative and totally delicious. Seriously the 'bonus' making of the Spring rolls were the best I've ever tried. My only word of warning......Don't eat breakfast before going.
