The Hāna Highway is a 64.4-mile long stretch of spectacular views of rainforest, waterfalls, beaches and coastline. On the east after Kalepa Bridge, the highway continues to Kīpahulu on the Piilani Highway. Although Hāna is only about 52 miles from Kahului, it takes about 2.5 hours to drive when no stops are made as the highway is very winding and narrow and passes over 59 bridges, 46 of which are only one lane wide. There are approximately 620 curves along Route 360 from just east of Kahului to Hāna, virtually all of it through lush, tropical rainforest. Many of the concrete and steel bridges date back to 1910 and all but one are still in use. This full-day trip to the Hana coast has the best scenic drive along the shorelines of Maui.

Hana Highway - Road to Hana
The Hana Highway is a 64.4-mile-long (103.6 km) , longest, coastal scenic route in the world. To the east of Kalepa Bridge, the highway continues to Kipahulu as Hawaii Route 31 (the Piilani Highway). This tour covers 59 single lane bridges, over 640 turns and curves, through lush, tropical rainforest. Most of the concrete and steel bridges date back to 1910.
Ho'okipa Beach Park
Ho'okipa Beach is considered the windsurfing capital of the world, you can enjoy watching wind surfers, kite boarders and surfers challenge the oceans waves and shoreline winds. This is also the Threatened Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle capital of Maui, with 200-pound turtles feeding along the shoreline and basking on the beach all day long. Stops made upon request. Please ask tour guide about stopping.

5.00Justin was our driver. He was on time for our pickup. His knowledge of Hana and excellent driving skills made for a very fun, relaxing day. The breakfast and lunch was wonderful too. I would 100% recommend this outing.

4.00You are grateful that you are not driving. Sights are beautiful. Don’t do if you get carsick easily. The roads are back and forth constantly.

5.00This was our first time in Maui. We picked this tour based on the amount of stops and things to see. Our tour guide, Heavenly was A pro. She drove us to each spot explaining Thr history, small details, and local lore. She never rushed any of the group and allways had a smile. If you do the this tour try and pick , Heavenly. Much appreciated.

5.00Our trip to Hana was amazing! Heavenly was our tour guide, and was also amazing! She was early, made sure we knew what was happening, told great stories, and went above and beyond for everyone in the van! While it was a very long day, it was worth it! Take motion sickness meds and bring toilet paper and hand sanitizer! We felt like Ohana!
Amazing day spent in a tour van with the best guide! Breathtaking views and sites! Fabulous people!

5.00The tour was amazing!! Our tour guide Kristie was fabulous!! She was so warm and welcoming! She made us feel like family as soon as we entered the van. She had amazing stories throughout the entire tour. We went to multiple beautiful spots and we were able to get out for a closer look and to take pictures. She had so much knowledge of the history of the island and surrounding islands. I highly recommend the tour and ask for Kristie!!

5.00Beautiful drive through twists and turns in the mountains. Waterfalls black sand beach, Aunty Sandy’s banana bread, coconut cream ice cream, sea turtles, and surfers! So much fun. Malia is a wonderful tour guide! She gave so much history and information at every stop! Highly recommend!

3.00This 9-hour tour with Polynesian Adventures was good (7 of 10). We left the port area (cruise ship) at 830am and returned by 530pm. The small bus (20pax) was in good condition, comfy leather seats and big windows. The driver (thank you Eduard) did a nice job pointing-out view points (waterfalls & overlooks) along the way. We stopped several times to & from Hāna. We had 2 stops that were appx 1hr each, as well as several short 10-15min stops for those Kodak moments. This includes chances to rock jump or dip in the cool water. The tour did include a box lunch (Turkey wrap, chips, cookie, water). Hāna itself is a quaint 800-person town with post office, 1 restaurant, art center and lodging option. The Road to Hāna “is what it is”. The road has many switchbacks and curves. Perhaps consider motion sickness OTC meds regardless of your tour company. The narrow road is mostly 2-way but with many 1-car bridges where yield & right of way will delay the drive. We wouldn’t do it again, but happy to check off our bucket list,
