Visit the mountain city of Villa Carlos Paz and its charming lake. Stop to gather supplies before embarking on the journey toward the Sierras de Córdoba mountains.
Camino de las Altas Cumbres
Embark on a road journey through the Sierras de Córdoba mountains, experiencing stunning landscapes along an iconic provincial route. Enjoy lunch atop the mountains, with a breathtaking view of the valley.
Capilla del Monte
We arrive at this small village north of Córdoba city just in time for sunset, a popular vacation spot for locals. Spend the night and prepare for the next five days, away from any big city.

Talampaya National Park
Begin the journey toward the desert, stopping along the way to appreciate the scenery. Visit the nearby desert village of Amaná, an isolated community that survives off mining. Explore Talampaya National Park, as well as nearby provincial parks.
Cuesta de Miranda
Finish the day by catching route 40, descending through the Cuesta de Miranda, admiring breathtaking scenery, and heading toward Chilecito for the night.
Chilecito
Explore the 300 year old city of Chilecito. Climb the hill to visit the Cristo del Portezuelo.

Fiambala
We will depart from Chilecito early in the morning, leaving behind the province of La Rioja and entering Catamarca. We will take Route 60 and arrive at Fiambalá, a village nestled among the dunes of the desert. We'll enjoy lunch in the village.
Our journey will continue deep into the desert, passing through small settlements like Medanitos, located beside vast dunes that descend from the mountains, where we will have the opportunity to try sandboarding. We will push forward, leaving civilization behind.
Tinogasta
We’ll drive through the desert for about 45 minutes until we reach Tatón, a small, rarely visited village hidden among the mountains. Here, we can sample the traditional wine grown in the sandy soil and engage with the friendly locals. From here, we will begin our return journey and spend the night in Tinogasta.

Belen
We will set off early once again, this time traveling along Route 40. After passing through Londres and Belén, we’ll take Route 43 and begin our ascent into the Andes for the first time. The landscape will gradually change, and we’ll begin to notice the unique flora and fauna of the mountains.
Campo de Piedra Pomez
Around midday, we’ll reach El Peñón, a small mountain village where we’ll have lunch before embarking on a 4x4 excursion through the Valley of the Volcanoes. Accompanied by a local guide and driver, due to the challenging terrain, we’ll explore this unique place, passing by the Carachi Pampa Volcano and its rainbow-colored lagoon, home to flamingos and llamas. Further along, after driving over the black volcanic rock, we’ll arrive at the salt flats and the black sand dunes that stretch for miles between the mountains. We’ll conclude the journey at one of the most beautiful spots of the trip, the Campo de Piedra Pómez. Here, we’ll walk freely among the white magma formations created by a millennia-old eruption.
Province of Catamarca
From here, we’ll return to El Peñón and then begin our descent. We’ll enjoy dinner at a roadside restaurant and spend the night in Huelfín.

Ciudad Sagrada de Quilmes
We’ll begin our journey mid-morning, following Route 40 towards Cafayate. Our route will take us briefly through the province of Tucumán, where we’ll pass by the Sacred City of the Quilmes, one of the region’s most important indigenous settlements, rich in history and culture.
Cafayate
We’ll make a stop in Colalao del Valle, a picturesque town where we’ll have the opportunity to sample homemade empanadas from the locals. Afterward, we’ll cross into the historic province of Salta and visit the charming town of Cafayate, an ancient wine-producing village located 1,700 meters above sea level. Along the way, we’ll also explore the nearby towns of Animaná and San Rafael. Upon reaching Animaná, we’ll drop off our luggage at José’s house before heading to Cafayate in the evening, where we’ll indulge in a delicious meal and savor the exceptional local wines that this region is famous for.

Quebrada del Rio de las Conchas
We’ll leave Animaná and head out on Route 68, widely regarded as one of the most beautiful drives in Argentina. Our journey will take us into the mesmerizing Quebrada de las Conchas, a place of awe-inspiring natural beauty. Along the way, we’ll pass incredible rock formations such as the Devil’s Hole, the Amphitheater, the Friar, the Obelisk, and the Devil’s Throat—each one a stunning example of the dramatic red rock canyons that define the gorge.
Puente Morales
We’ll pause for lunch at the bridge where the critically acclaimed film Wild Tales was filmed, enjoying a meal we’ll pick up from a local rest stop.
Salta
As we continue, we’ll enter the lush jungle of Salta and make a stop at the Cabra Corral Dam, a popular spot for adventurous activities such as bungee jumping and kayaking. After this thrilling detour, we’ll press on and arrive at the vibrant city of Salta, where the journey will continue.

Salta
Discover Salta, the most important city in northern Argentina. We will walk through the historic center, visit museums, and explore a street market where you can find locally made handicrafts and clothing. In your remaining time, you can enjoy some well-deserved rest after many days of adventure.

Cerro San Bernardo
We start the day by ascending San Bernardo Hill by car. (There is also a cable car available, but the ticket is not included.) From the hill, you will enjoy a panoramic view of the entire city. There are also dining options at the top.
Quebrada de San Lorenzo
In the afternoon, we will head to San Lorenzo, a village outside the city, where we will begin our trek through the San Lorenzo Ravine—a popular spot among locals and an authentic way to connect with Salta's diverse natural landscape.

Cuesta del Obispo
In the morning, we’ll set off from Salta, taking the picturesque Route 33 as we venture deeper into the stunning green mountains of the region. We’ll pause for lunch at a cozy local eatery nestled at the foot of the mountains, where you’ll have the chance to savor the authentic flavors of this tranquil area. Continuing our journey, we’ll tackle the "Cuesta del Obispo," a winding mountain pass that takes us up 2,000 meters. At the summit, we’ll notice the sharp drop in temperature before entering Los Cardones National Park, a vast, free-entry sanctuary filled with impressive landscapes and towering cactus forests.
Cachi
From there, we’ll descend into the Valle Calchaquí, a historically rich valley at the beginning of the Andes. Our destination is Cachi, a hidden gem of a town, more than 300 years old, where tourism remains minimal, preserving its authenticity. Nearby, you can explore fascinating attractions like the mysterious UFO Port, the snow-capped Nevado de Cachi mountain, and the serene Las Trancas River. We’ll spend the night in Cachi, strolling through its charming colonial streets, taking in the town’s quiet beauty and rich history. It's the perfect setting to unwind and reflect on the incredible experiences of the journey.

San Salvador de Jujuy
In the morning, we’ll gather our things and once again take Route 33, this time descending through the mountains. We’ll pass through Los Cardones National Park, el Carril, and return to Salta before continuing our road trip toward San Salvador de Jujuy. Instead of taking the usual routes, 34 and 66, we’ll choose the more scenic and narrow Route 9, embarking on an unforgettable journey filled with over a thousand curves as we wind our way through the lush northern rainforest of Jujuy and Salta. We’ll arrive in Jujuy by mid-afternoon, giving us some time to explore the city and its vibrant atmosphere. We’ll take a stroll through the bustling "Santiago del Estero" street, a lively area where locals shop for their groceries in a traditional market setting, offering a glimpse into everyday life in Jujuy. Afterward, we’ll settle in for the night, reflecting on the incredible journey through the mountains and the captivating scenery we’ve encountered along the way.

Purmamarca
We’ll hit the road early in the morning, heading north once more. Our first stop will be Purmamarca, famous for its stunning Seven-Colour Hill and its quaint, traditional mud houses. After soaking in the beauty of this iconic place, we’ll continue our journey, climbing up the Andes one last time, reaching an impressive altitude of 4,170 meters above sea level.
Salinas Grandes
Next, we’ll arrive at the breathtaking Salinas Grandes, Argentina’s largest salt flat. We’ll have the chance to walk across its vast white expanse and capture some stunning photos of this surreal landscape.
Tilcara
After a delicious lunch at the indigenous market near the salt flats, we’ll return to Route 9 and begin our descent down the mountains. We’ll drive for a while before arriving in Tilcara, an ancient town nestled at the foot of the mountains.
Humahuaca
We’ll have some time to wander through its charming, historic streets before continuing our journey to Humahuaca, another incredible mountain town steeped in centuries of history. With its traditional mud houses and vibrant local markets, Humahuaca offers an unforgettable experience.
San Salvador de Jujuy
We’ll return to Jujuy by sunset, and spend the last night there.
San Salvador de Jujuy
On the final day of our adventure, we’ll ensure you get to your return flight on time, dropping you off at either Jujuy or Salta airport, depending on your flight details. While we’ll be happy to help you with purchasing your return tickets, please note that this service is not included in the tour price. We’ll make sure you leave with great memories of your journey.

A genuine experience that any traveler should live once in their lifetime. Justino is a great guide, he knows every spot, and he ensures you have an authentic local experience. The price is relatively high, but it's worth every cent, considering they take care of every detail.
