5.00Totally the way to go. Be sure to review the directions provided in the listing on TripAdvisor to get to your driver--they won't be on your booking, so save the trip advisor listing to reference it once you get off your ship. Our drive Jeremiah spoke excellent English, and even made a couple short stops for us to get some minor purchases. The animal sanctuary was fun--direct interactions with white-faced capuchin monkeys and with macaws, and up close with (though not touching, to protect the animals) with several three-toed sloths. There were other monkeys, birds, and other animals we got to see up close as well. After the sanctuary, we were taken to a beautiful beach resort, where we had access to the beach, a restaurant on the beach, and the pool. A massive starfish (at least 15" in diameter) was found under water by my Wife, and after she and a bunch of kids on the beach all got interested, there was even a short impromptu lesson by one of the diving instructors about the starfish. Plenty of sun or shade, whichever you prefer, and the food at the restaurant was great. Even the pool was very nice, and they had restrooms, showers, and changing facilities on site. All in all, a great way to see great things on the island and a faction of the cost of a ship-approved excursion.

5.00When we got off the ship we located our guide, Cynthia who took us to her nice van and transported us throughout the island. She was so kind and informative. She explained about local life and it was very comfortable being with her. She took us to the animal sanctuary where we enjoyed the animals and then to the beach club. She helped us get settled there where we got lounge chairs in the shade. While there we did a snorkeling expedition with a small boat and captain who was kind, fed the fish to get them to come towards us, and led us around the breathtaking reef! Following that we relaxed in our chairs, the kids swam in the beach and pool, we ordered drinks and food from the restaurant. There are many people at the resort including persistent vendors, but you can navigate past them if you’re not interested. When time was up, Cynthia got us back to the ship with plenty of time to spare. We thoroughly enjoyed her and the day on this gorgeous island! You won’t regret booking with Tucan tours!

5.00Our day in Roatan was absolutely incredible from start to finish. The moment we got off the cruise ship and began looking for our tour operator, everyone we encountered was extremely helpful in guiding us in the right direction. Once we met our guide, Kevin, he welcomed us and walked us a short distance to a comfortable, air conditioned van. As we drove, Kevin shared interesting facts and stories about his beautiful island, which made the ride enjoyable and informative. Our first stop was the animal sanctuary where we got to see macaws, capuchin monkeys, and the highlight of the visit, the sloths. It was such a fun experience, especially for our kids. While we were inside the sanctuary, Kevin waited for us and made sure everything stayed on schedule. After that, Kevin drove us to the Henry Morgan Beach Club where we were set up with comfortable beach loungers under a covered area. We relaxed on the beach while Kevin checked on the snorkeling boat for us. Once it was ready, we took a very short boat ride out to the reef. The snorkeling there was absolutely beautiful and peaceful, with clear water and vibrant marine life. When we finished snorkeling, we were brought back to the beach club where we spent more time enjoying the beach. We ordered food there and it was extremely delicious. Throughout the day Kevin made sure we were well taken care of and kept an eye on the time so we would get back to the ship without any stress. My 6 and 8 year old really wanted to stop at a souvenir shop, so Kevin kindly took us to a nice shop that was not overpriced so we could look around. He also made a stop at a gas station and treated us to a traditional Roatan grab and go breakfast called a baleada. It was basically like a breakfast burrito and it was incredibly delicious. He even covered our drinks and the kids’ candy bars while we were there. Before heading back to the port, Kevin made sure to stop at the Roatan sign so we could take some pictures. It was the perfect final stop to remember such a great day. Kevin truly went above and beyond to make our experience special. Roatan is a gorgeous island, and Kevin’s kindness and attention made the day even better. The entire experience was a 10 out of 10, and we will absolutely request Kevin again the next time we visit.

5.00we had an AMAZING guide Tania. oh boi she was a special gift, sh picked us up, a family of four and took on our tour. she suggested the view point, the highest peak in the island to take pictures then we went on to see the monkeys and sloths and went snorkeling. we want some coffee and she stopped at a good spot for us to try and buy coffee. after the beach we wanted some local food and she took us to a great spot. The food was delicious. Along the way she educated us about the country and people. She was just the best and promptly took us back to the ship. We are so thankful and grateful we had the pleasure of meeting you. You made our time in Rotan memorable.

5.00The Roatan Private Snorkeling, Wildlife Park, and West Bay Beach was a great excursion with a variety of activities. The tour guide, Kenrick Woods was outstanding and made our trip so fun. He was also very knowledgeable and accommodating. What a great tour and day we had.

5.00We had a great experience! Carlos was our driver and took care of us. He made things easy and showed us what life is like on the island. We were so pleased with this excursion. We interacted with macaws and monkeys at the wild life park. We also met a sloth. For the snorkel and beach portion, we were at the Harry Morgan resort. The water is beautiful there. The snorkel portion was a quick boat trip to the reef. We saw lots of colorful fish. This was my husband’s first snorkel trip, and he loved it! Carlos arranged each portion of the excursion. This is a good option for folks that are unfamiliar with the island or just don’t want to think about anything. We are so grateful for Carlos. He took care of everything. We picked this tour because of the private driver option. For us, this was the best decision because we wanted to return to the ship early. Tip for those unfamiliar with the Mahogany Bay port: To find your excursion driver, find the taxi area. In the parking lot there’s a large crosswalk. Follow that crosswalk. It goes up a hill. The excursion drivers are at the bottom on the other side of the hill. You’ll see other folks walking that direction too. If you have mobility issues, consider taking a taxi. We didn’t, but surely one will take you there, probably?? The hill is pretty steep, but totally walkable if you don’t have problems with walking.

5.00Photo Ops with animals - primarily monkeys, sloths and parrots - was a very fun and family oriented experience. It’s a smallish well run sanctuary and gift shop. The next part of the adventure takes you to a resort with nice beach access and the boat took everyone out a ways for the snorkeling adventure. Masks and snorkels and floating jackets provided. No fins tho. Access to clean restrooms and a very clean and clear pool when you are tired of sand and ocean. There are plenty of shady spots and beach chairs.

5.00This was such a great time. Low activity/physical activity. The guides walk you from one point to the next with little physical excretion required. The animals are beautiful and healthy looking. Very interactive.
