This tour exceeded all our expectations. Frederick, our tour guide, was a great guide for the day and made this tour. His oenology knowledge provided a good background for the wine tasting and even had the two 18 year old girls traveling with us interested. Our visit to the Chateau de la Gardine to taste and better understand why the Châteauneuf-du-Pape is such an exceptional wine was extensive and beyond our expectations. Our day was busy with onward visits to Orange to see the Roman theater, then to the Roman bridge, Pont du Gard, which should be a must when in Provence and finally the town of Uzés known for its' well-preserved medieval architecture, and the iconic Place aux Herbes. All the while Fred continued with the important information concerning each place visited as well as some personal insights. The Pont du Gard is an ancient Roman aqueduct bridge built in the first century AD and now 2000 years later it still crosses the Gardon River.

Our all day tour could not have been better! A great mix of history and exploring small towns and of course wonderful wine and chocolate! Our guide Thierry was exceptional in every way- very friendly, professional and knowledgeable.

This a day to remember. The route is brilliantly organised such that the journeys from one to the next are very comfortable. Our guide, Nicolas, was knowledgeable, humorous, efficient and made the day informative, yet great fun. I cannot recommend this experience too highly.

We absolutely enjoyed our tour with Fred. He was extremely kind, courteous, and tailored our tour to our wishes. We enjoyed every stop, Pont du Gard was by far a major highlight! The Roman theatre in Orange was spectacular and so massive! The triumphal arch, wine tasting, and chocolate tasting were the “icing on the cake.” Everything was wonderful, along with our delicious lunch. Most enjoyable was the wonderful day Fred gave us!
