Colosseum
Your journey into antiquity begins with the Colosseum, one of the world’s most iconic sights. Your guide will call on their historical and archaeological expertise to tell you all about the battles, both physical and political, that played out in this incredible amphitheater. You might be surprised to learn that ‘Gladiator’ didn’t get everything right and that feats of ancient engineering even allowed the Romans to re-enact naval battles here.
Palatine Hill
The next stop takes you back to the very beginning. The Palatine Hill is the spot Romulus chose to found the city that would become Rome in 753 BC – a decision that ended in tragedy for his brother Remus. Here, steeped in history, you’ll enjoy spectacular views overlooking your next destination: the Roman Forum.

5.00Wonderful experience of history. Our guide was very informative and I wouldn’t have done it without a guided. all the information that you get from the guide made it more interesting. A lot of walking were comfortable shoes.. there is an elevator to go up, but for some reason, you have to take the stairs to go down. If you have any problems with your knees like I do, it is very hard going down..

5.00Silvia was passionate and incredibly knowledgeable. She was caring, efficient, and sparked curiosity for us as we explored these historic places. Silvia went above and beyond at every corner- such as personally guiding a guest needing to use the elevator at the colosseum and getting our group into a shorter line for security. She made the experience personal- and interactive as she tailored to each guest. She is an archeologist which is such an asset, this role is clearly her passion and something she enjoys doing. I cannot say enough great things about Silvia, this tour, and the way it was organized by CityWonders. Thank you!!

5.00Silva was a wonderful tour guide! Very friendly, authentic, and funny. She gave lots of interesting historical insight from her profession as an archaeologist. If you want a deeper look into this area, I highly recommend her. Not a very physically taxing tour either. The time was allotted well and we got to see everything.
