The Basilica is not included since it is not accessible from the museums due to the Jubilee

Colosseum
The day begins at the Coliseum where you meet your guide. You have a little time to wander about this breathtaking amphitheatre and your guide will tell you something of it history.
Roman Forum
Then it is outside again to see the Arch of Constantine and the Roman Forum. The forum was the empire’s hub where everything happened; political, religious and social. There is the 1st century Arch of Titus, the House of the Vestal Virgins, the Temple of Saturn, the Senate House and the white marble Arch of Septimus Severus to name a few.
Colle Capitolino
You then arrive at the Capitoline Hill following a short walk up the Sacred Way. Here is one of the most famous and breathtaking monuments of modern-day Italy, Il Vittoriano.
Trevi Fountain
The tour continues with a visit to the Trevi Fountain,it is more beautiful in real life though and if you follow the legend, throw a coin in the fountain and wish that you will one day return to Rome.
Pantheon
Another short walk down a narrow “vincolo” brings you to the Pantheon where you can visit the tomb of the Renaissance painter and architect Raphael. The day finishes with another walk, past the Ancient Baths of Nero to Piazza Navona and Bernini’s Fountain of the Four Rivers.
Piazza Navona
The day finishes with another walk, past the Ancient Baths of Nero to Piazza Navona and Bernini’s Fountain of the Four Rivers.
Vatican Museums
On the next part of the tour you can travel at your own pace and see some of the rooms not on the usual tourist itinerary. You meet with your guide at the entrance to the Vatican museums and head straight for the Belvedere Courtyard followed by the Pio-Clementine Museum with its wonderful display of statues from ancient Rome and Greece. Then the tour continues to see some of the museum’s artworks: the Gallery of Tapestries; the Gallery of Maps that is home to an unparalleled collection of Renaissance Maps; the Sobiesky Room where you will see the Vatican’s largest canvas and the wonderful frescoes in the Immaculate Conception Rooms.
Stanze di Raffaello
Linger a while in the stunning Raphael Rooms. These rooms were painted for Pope Julius II by Raphael and here you will see what are considered to be his greatest masterpieces, the Parnassus and the School of Athens.
Sistine Chapel
Next you will enter the Sistine Chapel; home of the conclave to elect a new Pope. Once inside you will benefit from the information your guide has given and be better able to appreciate Michelangelo’s wonderful ceiling frescoes and those on the walls painted by Botticelli and his contemporaries.
St. Peter's Basilica
It is then time for a tour of St. Peter’s Basilica where you will explore the numerous side chapels with their hidden crypts. You will see Michelangelo’s Pietà and your guide will explain why this is the only work that he signed. You will gain an appreciation of the mastery that went into the creation of Bernini’s altarpiece and learn how Michelangelo triumphed over his contemporaries for the honour to paint St. Peter’s magnificent dome.
St. Peter's Square
The tour will end in Saint Peter's Square

The operator canceled our tour 3 minutes before it was supposed to start. This essentially ruined our visit to Rome. They canceled because some of the sites were going to be closed on Day #2 (due to the death of the Pope). However, all the sites for Day 1 were open. I asked if they could do the first day, but they refused, not sure why... The only good thing about this experience was that they promptly refunded our money...

Our family of 6 was very happy and satisfied with the private tours provided by our guides Massimilliano and Christina. They were both very professional and knowledgeable. There was a lot of walking involved but overall a very good and enjoyable experience. There os no private transportation included so you have to know your way and get to the meeting place. From there, the guide will be leading the tour around.

Our guide, Claudia, was amazing. She went at the pace we requested, was a wealth of knowledge and you could see her love for her city during the guide. My mother was with us and she has some mobility issues and Claudia was very sensitive to her mobility issues. The experience we had from the drivers waiting for us, driving us to our guide, the tour itself and the drive back were all top notch! I cannot recommend Rome City Tours enough!!

The Rome in 2 Days Tour was amazing. Our tours guides gave us not only the history but true insight to the stories behind the history. This Tour is perfect because once you complete the tour you have an entire 1/2 day to explore on your own.

From my first contact via email with Carmen through our tour, everything was just excellent. They were so good at maintaining contact with us and managing the logistics. Our driver was awesome and the vehicle was top-notch. The tour would not have been the memory of a lifetime without our guide, Tommoso. His “day job” was a university archeology professor so he knew his subject matter, and his true passion for Rome and its history was so authentic. He really took care of us, showed just a great espresso spot (and bought the espresso since we had no Euros!). On top of it all, we lost one of our party in the mayhem of the Sistine Chapel in July (our fault) and he expertly navigated talking to the Vatican Police to locate our family member. The fact that he was so good in 90 degree weather and humidity (Mamma Mia!) is amazing. We invited him to visit us in America anytime!

My fiance and I, as well as 6 other friends were on a fabulous Mediterranean cruise with Rome as one our ports. Wanting to experience all we could, we looked into the cruise offerings. We wanted something a bit more personal and private, so we decided to look elsewhere. After having trolled several social media sites, I came across a few recommendations for romecitytours.com. They offered exactly what we were looking for. Although this review is for the 2 Day Tour, we did it one day. Their "Best of Rome" Tour was awesome! Our driver picked the eight of us up from the cruise port promptly at 7:30 and took us on a nice scenic drive to Rome where we were to meet our first tour guide, Sara. She was very knowledgeable and passionate about every venue and historical cite we visited. We didn't have to wait in any lines. There's nothing like have your own personal teacher informing you of things you thought you already knew, or dispelling myths that you just knew to be fact. I became a NEW fan of Rome. The second half of our day began with a quick lunch and on to the Vatican, where we me our other personal tour guide, Angelica. She was equally informative, and just as excited, if not more so than Sara. My head almost exploded from all of the lessons that were being given about the smallest country in the world, Michelangelo, the Sistine Chapel, St. Peter's Basilica, and the various men who have served as Pope. It was also fascinating to see all of the "Pope Mobiles" that have been used throughout the years. A great experience for ANYONE visiting Rome or the port of Civitavecchia. After our tour through the Vatican, the same driver that brought us to Rome was waiting to take us back to our ship. I would recommend them to any and everyone looking to explore and tour Italia. Two thumbs up for romecitytours.com.
