After travelers are picked up from their hotels, we will travel to the Banjul Ferry terminal to begin our trip. The ferry will take us to Barra, where we will drive to Jufureh.
In Jufureh, we will visit the slave Museum, which contains artifacts from the slave trade in The Gambia, as well as maps and illustrations of the route from The Gambia to the Western world.

5.00Highly recommend this tour which exceeded my expectations. I joined another solo traveller we both had a very positive experience. Our guide and his team were extremely accomodating and attentive to our needs. We got indepth historical and cultural insights, gained a wealth of information and perspectives. The guide was ponctual and highly organised which made for a smooth and pleasant experience. Thank you!

5.00Emmel was our Guide today - he's excellent. Very passionate, articulate and knowledgeable, he welcomed our questions with open arms and fielded every single one of them with care and confidence. Plus he created an atmosphere of both curiosity and fun which had us strangers getting along well and chatting too! Kunta Kinteh Island is heavy with history. You can't help feeling it when you're among the rubble of what used to house slave trade administration, and human suffering on an unimaginable scale. We've just had a year or two where Bigotry & Cruelty seem to be making fresh advances at almost every turn, and everywhere around the globe, so this was a not only a good education, but a timely reminder. As the words under the statue read: 'Never Again!' Thank you to all the organisers, Drivers & Guides at Arch Tours. A most excellent experience.

5.00Really great experience. ML was great, explained things very well and made sure we were safe throughout the trip. I travelled solo and there were 2 others on the tour with me. It was nice. He allowed us time to look around the site, take photos and then we all had lunch together. The Slave museum was sad also but very informative Bring a cardigan for the ferry as it gets a bit chilly! I’d recommend the fish option for lunch too.
