Tours are suitable for people of all ages and average fitness. Our scenic walks are short and optional. Please let our guide know at check in if you have any fitness concerns.

You must be able to climb and descend stairs and walk on unpaved or uneven terrain.

Bring a camera or a phone with camera capability as this is the perfect place to get some great experiences photos.
Being an active geothermal area with uneven terrain, sturdy footwear is recommended. Jandals, sandals, flip-flops or high heeled shoes are not suitable.
Some dietary requests could be met. However, given the nature of Maori Kai (food), we are unable to cater to all the dietary needs such as vegan options.

5.00What a great trip it was for me and my friends. We visited Arataki Cultural and Heritage Visitor Centre then Piha, the black sand beach. The beautiful landscapes of the Waitakere Ranges was breathtaking. And finishing our day with a sumptuous meal at a winery what can I say. Genuinely the trip was very unique and a memorable one for us. All made possible by experienceKart. The van provided was very spacious and comfortable, plenty of room to stretch our legs and ample space for our belongings. Back up snacks and water at every stop and not forgetting the luxury of having free WiFi all the way. Karthik himself was very punctual, on time every stop as per the plan. Had a wealth of information about the cultural and historical aspects of country Aotearoa to share. Highly recommend to everyone the services of ExperienceKart. 5.00I had the pleasure of taking the Rotorua cultural and geothermal tours with the tour guide Karthik from Experience Kart. We visited multiple bubbling mud pools, hot springs and geothermal landscapes. Also witnessed Māori traditional performances, engaged in traditional geothermal cooking methods to name a few. The weather was fantastic and very good scenery all through our drive to and from Auckland to Rotorua. I was honored to have Karthik chauffeur us for this tour as he himself is a encyclopedia of his own with in-depth knowledge and kept us informed all through. He possesses comprehensive knowledge of New Zealand Geography and culture, Māori heritage, and architectural evolution. He is also experienced in managing group dynamics, handling unexpected situations like weather changes, and coordinating with tour venues and restaurant for our lunch break. He also had bottled water, canned juices and snacks in the vehicle to keep us well fed to and from tour. What particularly attracted me to Rotorua cultural and geothermal tours were both the iconic landmarks and hidden gems of our spectacular bubbling hot mud pools. 5.00The trip (Rotorua Cultural & Geothermal Small Group Tour From Auckland) exceeded my expectations. It was simply wonderful! Every single aspect of it made this memorable experience. In our small group, we visit a Maori village, including I walk in the forest, Springs and village guided by the most knowledgable and kind Māori relative. That was followed by a cultural show. We then visited geothermal sites, which were beyond fabulous. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. The vehicle we travelled in was luxurious and the drive, smooth and full of beautiful vistas. I would definitely recommend this trip; thank you very much! I hope to take future trips with this company.

5.00The tour guide’s enthusiasm and positive attitude was incredible. You are on the road on the way to the Maori for close to three hours. He used the time to share pertinent geologic and historic information. His focus on the volcanic aspects of the island was fascinating as was the geothermal section of the tour. The Māori section was as expected, but well done. (The food exceeded expectations.) The Māori guide was very generous with his time in a question and answer period. I highly recommend this tour.

5.00I joined the “Rotorua Cultural & Geothermal Experience” day trip and was genuinely impressed. Our guide Karthik was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and really made the day special with all the insights he shared. The tour itself is a perfect mix of culture and stunning geothermal attractions. You get a great introduction to Māori traditions while exploring some of Rotorua’s most beautiful geothermal sites. Everything was well organized, on time, and super smooth. An amazing trip that I can highly recommend!
