Experience ice fishing in Lapland on a private lake, away from busy tourist areas, in a small-group setting designed to be calm and authentic.
Operated by The Original Aurora Hunters®, Arctic GM is a family-run company with roots in Lapland dating back to the 1600s, combining local knowledge with a focus on nature-based experiences.
After pickup, you will travel to a secluded lakefront location. Your guide will introduce traditional ice fishing techniques, including how to drill a hole in the ice and use the equipment.
The experience is relaxed and suitable for beginners, with time to enjoy the quiet surroundings and take part at your own pace.
During the tour, you will gather around the fire to warm up with hot drinks and enjoy a traditional Lapland barbecue.

Begin your experience with pickup in Rovaniemi and transfer to a private lakefront location outside the city, away from busy tourist areas. On arrival, your guide will introduce the basics of ice fishing, including how to drill a hole in the ice and use the fishing equipment. No prior experience is required. You will then try ice fishing on the frozen lake, with guidance from your instructor. The activity is relaxed, with time to fish, enjoy the surroundings, and take photos. The experience takes place in a quiet natural setting, offering views across the frozen lake and surrounding forest. During the tour, you will gather around a fire to warm up with hot drinks and enjoy a traditional Lapland barbecue. After the experience, return transfer to Rovaniemi. Total duration is approximately 3–4 hours.

5.00We had the most amazing time ice fishing and enjoying a BBQ, all thanks to our fantastic tour guide, Romain. From start to finish, he was friendly, knowledgeable, and made everyone feel completely at ease—even if it was our first time on the ice! Romain explained everything clearly, kept it fun, and made sure we were warm, safe, and well looked after. The ice fishing itself was such a unique experience, and the BBQ afterwards was the perfect touch & hot drinks, and great conversation in a truly stunning setting. If you’re thinking about ice fishing in Finland, do it and hope you get Romain as your guide. An unforgettable experience we’ll be talking about for years! ❄️🎣🔥

5.00Amazing time, didn’t catch any fish but the tour guide definitely made it an amazing time. The ice was so thick and Pedro persisted to ensure that we had the chance to fish!

5.00We joined a tour near a lake and tried ice fishing with our family. The whole experience was really good. We had a nice fire, grilled sausages, and enjoyed great conversation. The kids had so much fun throwing snowballs and playing in the snow. Ice fishing itself was very interesting — truly a once-in-a-lifetime thing. You drill a hole in the ice, sit in the cold, and wait. We waited about 30 minutes, hoping to catch a fish. Sadly, we didn’t catch any, but it was still an amazing experience. It became a family memory we will never forget. Thank you, Arctic GM, for organizing such a great tour!

5.00We had a great time out ice fishing with Artic GM when we went! We were the first ice fishing tour this season as we went pretty early in December, but the ice was nice and safe when we went. We really loved our guide, Adam! We was a great guide and was very knowledgeable about fishing. It was also only myself and my wife so we basically had a private tour! We caught 6 fish between the three of us, so we had a pretty great day of fishing! Highly recommend this and can't recommend Adam more as a guide! In the future it would be a lot of fun if Arctic GM set up some more guided fishing experiences that were longer and more geared towards the serious angler!
