Come and experience a truly unforgettable winter adventure, where a husky sleigh ride is more than just an exciting activity – it's a moment of connection with the silence of Lapland, its pristine nature, and our friendly sled dogs.
You’ll have the chance to drive your own husky team or simply sit back and enjoy the ride as the sled glides along a scenic three-kilometer trail through snowy forests. Before the ride, you'll visit our cozy kennel, meet our cheerful huskies, and learn about their lives from our experienced guides – all in a relaxed, unhurried, and genuinely warm atmosphere.
This 35-minute experience is designed for those who want to connect with Lapland’s nature and animals up close, while staying comfortable and safe. It's suitable for all ages and makes a perfect addition to your winter holiday, whether you're traveling solo, as a couple, or with family.

Suitable for all physical fitness levels
Husky rides can be physically demanding, and participants may be exposed to vibration and physical strain. For this reason, husky safaris are not recommended for pregnant women. Important information about the safari: The husky safari lasts approximately 20 minutes. Children ride in the same sled with adults (max. 2 adults + 2 children per sled). One participant drives the sled while the other rides as a passenger. For safety reasons, the driver cannot be changed during the safari. Product may be cancelled or rescheduled if the group size is smaller than 2 persons Please remember to dress warmly, clothing is not included in the activity.
We will notify you of the exact pickup time via message. If you have any questions about the pickup locations, feel free to contact us! Kindly wait outside at the agreed location for the guide to pick you up. You can also arrive directly at our meeting point: Lapland Royal Adventures Office, Maakuntakatu 31.
There is a restaurant at our activity site where you can take a break and enjoy a meal at your own expense.

Join us for an unforgettable winter adventure! We’ll pick you up comfortably from the Rovaniemi area and take you to the activity location, where your day begins with a visit to our husky kennel. You’ll get to meet our cheerful and energetic sled dogs and learn all about their life, care, and training from our knowledgeable guides. Before heading out on the safari, you’ll receive clear and thorough instructions on how to safely drive the sled. Then it’s time to hop in and set off on a 5-kilometer husky ride, which lasts about 35 minutes. You can choose to drive the husky team yourself or sit back and relax as a passenger — either way, you’ll enjoy the stunning winter scenery of Lapland and the thrill of husky power. After the ride, we’ll take you back with our return transportation. This experience combines the peace of nature, a touch of adventure, and authentic Lapland atmosphere — perfect for solo travelers, couples, and families alike. Come and experience true Arctic magic with the huskies!

5.00The price remains expensive but it is a real walk of 5kms. Dogs do indeed move very quickly. This allows you to really enjoy the scenery, dogs and musher activity (change along the way possible). We were a group of about twenty people (about 10 sleds) taken in 3 subgroups by a guide on snowmobile which did not give the overtourism feeling that can emerge from the place when one arrives. The staff was very nice and provided explanations clearly. Dogs were for some petting seekers. Staff seem to love what they do and are surrounded by animals. Watch out for the 2nd part of the ride, there is a bit of climbing and sometimes you have to help the dogs, get off and push the sled a little while running in the snow. Nothing impossible but you should know (the guides say it at the beginning of the explanations) so plan rather at the end of the journey someone who will have this ability:) At the end you have the opportunity to pet dogs and take pictures (no one hurries you) and a little moment of explanation/questions with a hot drink is offered to finish the activity.

1.00It sucks! Upon arrival at the office where Viator had booked the husky excursion, this was not passed on to them and neither was the payment!! Excursion was cancelled, thanks Viator! You worthless b*fters! Don't book through them is worthless!!!!!

5.00We absolutely loved the experience. The whole team was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel comfortable from the very beginning. All the instructions were clear and easy to follow, and throughout the entire route we were accompanied by a guide riding a snowmobile in front of us, ensuring everything went smoothly. It was clear that the huskies are very well cared for and in excellent condition. On several occasions, we saw the staff showing them affection and paying close attention to their well-being, which was really reassuring and heartwarming. Overall, we would rate this experience 10/10 and highly recommend it. Kind regards. Martin

3.00Great location appx 10 minute drive from Santas village. Husky's and hounds are clearly loved and looked after. Beautiful setting. Driver picked us up on time and transported us back to Santas village following the trip. Sadly, the tour was extremely understaffed (so they said) had a lack of understanding and customer service. We were picked up at 1pm but didn't set off on our ride until 3pm, so a lot of waiting around in the freezing cold with children. The main two staff who completed the briefing were rude, sharp and inconsiderate. We had flown in to Lapland for the day as a family and had other things booked which we sadly missed due to the delays at royal adventures. The husky ride itself was magical, we were led by Janne who was the only polite member of the team, he clearly saw how disappointed we were and did his best to make our trip special including taking videos, photos and helping with any issues. Hoping we can get in touch with him to get the videos and thank him for making a bad situation slightly more manageable. If you're booking with this company I'd advise you to leave a lot of time to wait around. Next time we'll go elsewhere as for over £450 for the pleasure sadly it wasn't worth it.

1.00We booked the 9am slot but were told last minute it was “fully booked” and moved to 1:30pm. Our driver then arrived late, which made us late and caused us to miss the introduction and information about the huskies that was supposed to be included. The actual husky ride lasted about two minutes, nowhere near the 1.5 hours advertised. And although it’s sold as a “husky ride,” there were nine dogs and only two were huskies. We didn’t even get to pet the dogs afterwards because most were locked in cages, and some were chained up in their own waste. Honestly horrible to see and not what you expect from a paid animal experience. Overall, massively disappointing and nowhere near what was advertised. Would not recommend.
