The Royal Gorge offers the best adventure whitewater in the state of Colorado. Just one hour from Colorado Springs, the Royal Gorge rafting experience includes class III to V rapids through the heart of a magnificent gorge. The 6-hour, all-day trip includes class III rapids in the morning, a delicious gourmet style boxed lunch served at a private riverside landing, followed by an afternoon of high adventure in the rapids of the Royal Gorge.

Travelers should have a high level of physical fitness

Guests should be in good physical condition and at least 14 to 18 years of age; water levels dictate the minimum age; peak levels typically occur in early June

Swimming ability is strongly recommended

Dress appropriately for wet conditions. Swim suits, shorts or synthetic garments recommended. Always avoid cotton.

Secure footwear such as sport sandals are ideal. Flip flops, slip-on sandals and Crocs are not deemed appropriate footwear.

Wetsuit, splash jacket, and river shoes rental available on-site

A liability release form must be completed for each traveler prior to rafting. Any guest under the age of 18 MUST have our release form signed by a parent or legal guardian and submitted prior to joining us for any trip.

Expect a phone from Echo Canyon after reserving. We will collect your email address and so we can send you a link to complete your online liability release forms.

Excellent whitewater rafting in the Royal Gorge. Great experience with Boy Scout Troop enroute to Philmont. Our guide, Alfredo Led was phenomenal and promoted teamwork on the crew to navigate the toughest of the rapids with ease. Highly recommended.

We brought my son to celebrate his high school graduation and could have been happier. From the organization and professionalism of all guides to the trip itself. Josh was our guide and he was fun, knowledgeable and kept us safe. He had great stories, gave a great history of the area and got us wet on a hot day. We did the full day and it went by too quickly. I would highly recommend and would request Josh every time!!!! Thanks for the great day!!

Our guide Baker was awesome. Explained what needed to be done before hitting the near rapid, and was very knowledgeable. Will definitely use echo again.

Our family was very impressed with the professionalism and organization of Echo Canyon River Expeditions. The facility was very clean and well kept. We did the full day trip and we had some inexperienced rafters in our family and the calmer water in the first half of the trip helped them gain confidence and understand what our guide needed us to do. We had an excellent guide, Ramzi, and our family felt very safe under his guidance. We purchased the full images and video package of our trip and watching the videos gave us an even better appreciation of his work as our guide. Ramzi, kept his cool and communicated well with us. A guide in one of the other boats, Trevor, seemed like a very good and fun loving guide to request as well.

Saturday was such a fun day on the river! Booked a boat of 6 friends with raft guide Jenae, and it has been my favorite river experience to date. 6 was the perfect number to have an even boat, and we were all capable rowers, working well as a team which elevated the experience. Incidents happen if the members on your boat do not work together. Jenae was great about directing our strokes and maneuvers, keeping us safe and routed on great lines down the river. I really appreciate that Jenae had so much to share along the way. We learned about plants, history, animals and much much more! There was never a dull moment, and the temperature of the day was perfect. Water wasn't too cold, and even in low water there is still plenty of excitement! First part of the river is calmer, but I would highly suggest for a full day! Our group was well taken care of for lunch, provisions and bathrooms. This experience is well worth it, I would definitely do it again. This actually was the second trip for part of our group, and would book Jenae again in a heartbeat! All the guides are awesome! Trevor was the MC on the bus and his humor was the framework for the day! Much appreciated! Highly, Highly Recommend!!!

Today, whitewater rafting through the Royal Gorge, we had a fabulous day on the Arkansas River. Maura our guide, put us in the best position through ever rapids today for our boat to have an awesome ride! Do the full day - it's worth it!

Great rafting trip! Our guide, Josh, was the absolute best - very professional, knowledgeable and safety-conscious. We always felt safe and well prepared for what lay ahead. He also gave us a few really interesting history lessons along the way. Our group is already planning on revisiting next year and we will definitely request Josh when we book. Echo Canyon River Outfitters overall is top-notch. Everything was seamless from booking to check-in to the moment we departed. A very professional, well-organized company.

A fun, unique and (logistically) doable full day on the Gorge. Our raft guide was Jenae (pronounced "Jenn-Ay"), who absolutely made this great experience. She was kind, fun, and patient. She was extremely informative on all things river, from the moves we were about to do on the rapids, to edible plants along the river, to knowledge on birds/animals, to history along the Gorge itself. Her experience was all-encompassing, and helped make this trip a lifetime experience. Big thanks to Jenae, "Corn Dog" (trip leader), and the rest of the great staff at Echo Canyon River Expeditions. We will surely be back!

Saturday was such a fun day on the river!
