Tower A, with its infamous "Arbeit Macht Frei" (Work Sets You Free) inscription, served as the main entrance and exit for the camp. It symbolizes the deceitful promises made to prisoners and now stands as the iconic entry point to the memorial site, setting the tone for a visit rooted in reflection and remembrance.

We had the remarkable opportunity to join a walking tour of Sachsenhausen. The three-hour tour seemed to pass quickly as Jenny skillfully guided us through the site, offering profound and insightful commentary. Her in-depth stories about the camp's history were both educational and deeply moving. I strongly recommend this tour as an essential experience when visiting Berlin.
