Inca Trail
Your short Inca Trail hiking tour to Machu Picchu starts with you being picked up from your hotel at 4 a.m. Following, we will go to the train station and leave on the 6:10 a.m. train from Ollantaytambo. The trail follows the Urubamba River until we reach Km104, where we'll begin our trek. Along the way, you will see spectacular views of farmlands, snow-capped mountains, and the mighty Urubamba River that is one of the sources of the Amazon River. At 104 km (2,000 m), we will begin our trek. Once you have everything, we will provide you with snacks, and take a group photo before visiting our first Inca site. After your orientation and tour of the Inca site, we will begin hiking as we head for the Classic Inca Trail. If the weather is clear, we'll have tremendous views of Machu Picchu, the Urubamba River, and other surrounding Inca Sites. After hiking for thee hours, we will reach the most beautiful Incan site on the Inca Trail Wiñay Wayna (Forever Young) at 2,600 m/8,500 ft. Most people do not get the opportunity to see an elaborate water fountain, temples, and some agricultural terraces, which provide a perfect opportunity to learn about the history of the Incas. The backdrop of this site drops off a cliff, with beautiful mountains surrounding the area. A few minutes away we will find the campsites, people doing the Classic Inca Trail will spend the night there. Here we will provide a hot lunch for you. Cooked that same moment by one of our chefs. Here we will be able to refill your water and you will have the change to take some rest after lunch. From Wiñay Wayna, we will walk to the Sun Gate, where we will see the picturesque landscape of Machu Picchu. After taking in the once-in-a-lifetime views, we will begin our descent to Machu Picchu. One advantage of this trek is that by the time you reach Machu Picchu, the day travelers will have left, leaving you the whole area to yourselves. After taking photos, we take the bus down to Aguas Calientes and head to your hotel. Following, we will head to Indio Feliz for dinner (included). This restaurant is considered to be the best food in Aguas Calientes. After dinner, we recommend going to bed early to make the most of the next day.
Machu Picchu guided tour - Back to ollantaytambo - Cusco your hotel
We will wake up early in the morning to catch the sunrise at Machu Picchu. You will have a two hour guided tour by your private English speaking guide. After that, you will have time to explore Machu Picchu by yourself. Those who have tickets to Huayna Picchu will have time to climb the mountain, which takes approximately an hour and a half, round-trip. After exploring, you can either take a bus or walk down to Aguas Calientes for a free afternoon. Don´t forget about your train, which will depart later that afternoon back to Ollantaytambo and then we will drive you back to Cusco.

5.00We traveled and explored with Ronald for 4 amazing days on a 6 day trip to Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley. The Andean Path team was super helpful in the planning stage, including helping us decide what to do with our other two days in the area (in contrast to a supposedly higher end company that kept pressuring us to use them all 6 days - which is not necessary). Alijcea helped us develop a trip perfectly customized for our family. The one day Inca trail hike was way better than just taking the bus up, allowing us to see Winay Wayna and come in through the sun gate. Rainbow Mtn was a challenge but worth every step. Throughout the trip, Andean Path found ways to help us avoid the crowds. We enjoyed spending time with Ronald, while also having our own space when wanted.

5.00We took a tour with Andean Path Travel in April through the Sacred Valley, short Inca Trail, Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu. David and Alicja were fantastic and very responsive in organizing all the trip details and our tour guide Ron was incredible. Ron was extremely knowledgeable about all the sites we visited, and he explained the Inca history and culture about all the things we saw. We saw a textile dying demonstration in Chinchero, which was very fun and interesting, and then we saw Maras Salt Mines and Ruins at Moray and then toured the ruins at Ollantaytambo. It's well worth the extra day to see the Sacred Valley. The Inca trail and Huayna Picchu were challenging, but Ron was amazing. He was patient, encouraging, and super supportive in getting us through the difficult parts, and we feel proud for having accomplished it. Ron was also awesome at taking photos and knew all the great spots where to stand for the best viewpoint. It was an incredible trip and we will have memories for a lifetime. Thanks to Andean Path Travel everything was perfect. If you are thinking about a trip to Peru, I highly recommend you stop thinking and book a tour with Andean Path Travel. You’ll be glad you did.

5.00We did Sacred Valley, short Inca trail, Machu Picchu tour, and Rainbow mountain with Andean Path Travel. Our guide, Domingo, has been nothing short of amazing. He's incredibly accommodating, and super knowledgeable on Incan history. He provided us with an unforgettable experience, with the short Inca Trail being my personal favourite part of the trip. I recommend Domingo to anyone that wants to enjoy their time in Peru to the fullest.

5.00The place is impressive, walking to Machu Pichu was an unforgettable experience. The agency had everything coordinated, the cars that drove us there and back were new and comfortable, and the drivers were attentive and careful on the road. The hotels were of excellent quality, clean, comfortable, and in the best location, right in the middle of everything.

5.00We had an unforgettable, fun and deeply moving experience during this wonderful tour with Roneld. I have to admit that I was initially not that excited about a family vacation to Peru but my daughter insisted we would have an amazing time and that I would love it in the end. She was so right. My husband and I went with our two 20-something kids. From the time I booked the reservation to the final goodbye at our hotel in Cusco, Alicja, David and Roneld were wonderfully attentive. Alicja's instructions were clear and detailed, and Roneld did a great job preparing us for what we would experience. We loved hearing about Peru's history and the traditions of the Quechua from Roneld's point of view. Seeing the salt mines, stopping to hear about how alpaca wools are dyed naturally, and the tour of the Sacred Valley were unforgettable! The trek to the Sun Gate and ultimately Machu Picchu was one of the most difficult experiences of my life. We had to take a different trail because of heavy rains on the original one. The one we took was basically a vertical climb! I've never experienced any hike like it and it was brutal for me. But I did it! Not so for my kids, who arrived a full hour before I did, and my husband, who made it 30 minutes after them. Roneld stayed with me, encouraged me, went ahead, and stayed back, all at the right moments with this eerie instinct about exactly what I needed in the moment that I needed it. I will never forget him. I made it to the top only because of his patience and encouragement. The hotel in Ollantaytambo was lovely. We struggled a bit to to get to sleep at the one in Aguascalientes because of the loud partiers around the area. Still, we made it work. The next day's tour of Machu Picchu was nothing compared to the hike the day before so we were ready for anything! :-) When we arrived back in Cusco, Roneld reminded us to get all of our things. Little did I know, I'd dropped my glasses in the van. The driver was kind enough to return them to our hotel the next day. That small kindness was so very appreciated. Thank you! All in all, we were just so incredibly thankful for this experience and, in particular, to have had it with Roneld. Thank you so very much for sharing your stories and for answering all of our many, many questions, Roneld. When I asked you if you ever got used to seeing Machu Picchu and you said every visit is different and magical, I knew you were a special human. Thank you Alicja and David for creating a wonderful tour for our family!

5.00Excellent tour company. This small local tour company came highly recommended and were very responsive when I contacted them by email. They put together a customized four day tour for our family which included a tour of Pisac, the Sacred Valley and the one day hike to Manchu Picchu. Pie tour guide Ronald was experienced, friendly and very knowledgeable. The drivers were skilled and overall the entire tour went off without a hitch. Highly recommend for assisting with a Cusco-based itinerary.

5.00I had a fantastic time. David was friendly, knowledgeable and great to be around. We did the sacred valley/ 1 day hike and my kids found the hike a bit challenging but David was great with them and kept encouraging them to finish. He’s such positive person and tour and transportation was fantastic. I would definitely recommend using Andean path travel.

5.00We had an amazing time. The tour was well organized and our guide was very knowledgeable and experienced. He met us the day before the tour and explained everything. His tips on starting early was very useful to avoid the crowds, and to beat the heat. They handled all the logistics ahout handling luggage around the long hikes, recommended good, safe hotels and restaurants. The tour buses were always spot on time. We were really able to relax and enjoy Peru as they made it comfortable and hassle free.
