Join us on an exciting tour of the Peñas Blancas River, departing from La Fortuna. For approximately 2 hours, we will explore 8 kilometers of crystal clear waters, admiring the diverse wildlife that inhabits the shores, from monkeys to crocodiles. In addition, we will contribute to the environment by planting a tree. At the end, we will enjoy a delicious traditional snack before returning to La Fortuna.

Our family had a great time on this tour! Our guide, Fi, picked us up from our hotel and the tour started right away - he had spotted a sloth in a tree nearby and parked so we could get out and see it. It was our first ever sloth sighting and it couldn't have been better. The little cutie was low in a tree, and moving around so we got some amazing photos! Once we got on the river, Fi was a wealth of information about not only the animals, but the plants and landscape around the river. He spotted many monkeys in the trees, as well as a river otter, and various birds. He stopped the boat whenever we spotted something cool so we could get closer and take photos and video. A real highlight was when the howler monkeys started roaring above us, a sound we'd never heard before and are unlikely to forget!! Our kids were thrilled. Thanks so much for a fantastic tour, highly recommend!

Carlos was a wonderful guide and would do anything to help you with pictures. My husband is quite limited in his movements and he helped him so much in and out of the boat and up and down the stairs to the river.

Johnny is a fantastic guide that will LITERALLY jump into the water to get you the best pictures. He works so hard to make sure you have a great time. Super knowledgeable too, I've lived and experienced tours in Costa Rica all my life and still learned so much. Will do this tour again in summer for sure.

Twilight safari tour was amazing. Our guide Johnny was great. We saw birds, bats, iguanas and monkeys. We stopped mid ride with a provider snack. Gentle ride great for families. Highly recommended.

Johnny was great! Don’t hesitate and book this tour. It’s a relaxing yet funny and very interesting trip down the river! You’ll have the chance to see many animals including monkeys, caymans, bats, and plenty of birds!

It's been a nice afternoon sailing with Johnny down the river. The two hours are spent flying watching wildlife along the river (toucans, monkeys, crocodiles,...) and listening to Johnny’s explanations. You can tell he's passionate about what he does. A highly recommended family experience. A quiet and relaxed walk, but very nice.

Very good experience! We saw many animals like monkeys and toucans, besides, the environment is beautiful. Besides, Johnny explains everything to you super well. 100% recommended.

Johnny was a great guide! The river was so pretty and we got to see a lot of monkeys. We also saw birds, snakes, and sloths. Even though it was rainy season, there was still tons to see. Everyone was very friendly!

Johnny our guide was amazing. He is very knowledgeable about CR wildlife and the plants. My favorite part is that with every tour he plants a tree to help build up the natural flora and prevent corrosion on the banks of the river. Unfortunately we didn’t get to see much wildlife due to the weather (we are here during rain season and a few storms have come through) but, that didn’t stop us from enjoying our time. We did get to see some howler monkeys and multiple local birds. After our rafting trip we stopped at a local cafe and enjoyed some plantains and homemade cheese with coffee. On the way back to our car we enjoyed our conversation about local CR life. We enjoyed our time with Johnny !
