The boat ride over to Salem was fine. The boat scheduled back to Boston, never showed up. We were at the dock 20min before hand and 30min after and it never came. We had to get a $70 Uber ride back. I got my money back but they would not reimburse my friend.

Great experience, left on time and was clean an pleasant trip overall. I definitely recommend using the ferry instead of driving to Salem.
