When you hear people talk about Salem, often times the first thing that comes to mind is Witches, and Halloween, and ghosts and spooky fun, but there's so much more lurking in the shadows. Salem is nearly 400 years old and just like all of us, it has a dark side. An underbelly wrought with stories for the ages. Join us for our 90 min evening walking tour as we wander through the shadows and hear stories about pirates and pepper, secrets of the oldest cemetery in Salem, brutal murders, strange legal battles, curses, spiders, torture, and of course a ghost story or two. We invite you to be part of our story and Uncover Salems dark past. -All tour guides are licensed by the City of Salem and are professional storytellers .

This is where the tour meets and the site of our first story. The building here is the historic site where Harry Houdini preformed an escape act from the Salem Jail in 1906.
Historic Location. Dating back to 1637, this is the oldest burying point in Salem. We will hear stories of the infamous dead, spiders, and lost corpses.

2.00While I loved learning the true history of salem, I don't think it's right for a tour guide to act like you're a complete idiot for not realizing that the people accused of witchcraft were hung and not burned. The whole point of the tour was to learn the true history, so I didn't appreciate being made fun of for that. I can tell the tour guide hates his job. And kept mentioning to other passing guides how "its almost over" while I'm sure living in Salem through the holidays is tiring, this isn't how you want a tour guide to act.

5.00As a longtime Salem: The Podcast listener, I was so excited to finally experience the Salem Uncovered Tour in person — and it absolutely exceeded my expectations! When I arrived, I was greeted by Tim, who happens to be Jeffrey’s brother. I mentioned that I was a little sad not to have Jeffrey as my guide since I’m such a fan of the podcast, and Tim kindly told me he’d do his best to make sure I met him. Tim was incredibly knowledgeable and engaging throughout the entire tour, sharing dark and fascinating stories about Salem’s history. As we were walking we actually ran into Jeffrey, and Tim made a point to turn us around so I could officially meet him and even ask a question! I was thrilled — and got a quick photo, too! I’m so grateful to both Tim and Jeffrey for going above and beyond to make this experience special. I went with two friends who aren’t podcast listeners (yet), and they loved the tour so much that they said it was their favorite part of our trip — and now they want to start listening to Salem: The Podcast! Overall, I can’t recommend this tour enough. Whether you’re a fan of the podcast or just interested in Salem’s darker history, this is a must-do experience!

1.00No guide ever showed. Call about 10 mins after tour was to start abd was told there was a booking issue.Was charged and told I would be refunded but have not received yet. Will be filing a dispute with credit card.
Great way to see the city and learn about its rich history.
