Gur Emir Mausoleum
The Gur Emir Mausoleum is the final resting place of the great conqueror Amir Timur (Tamerlane) and his descendants, including Ulugbek. Built in the 15th century, it is a masterpiece of Timurid architecture, featuring a stunning blue dome, intricate tilework, and a richly decorated interior. This sacred site offers a glimpse into the power, legacy, and artistic brilliance of the Timurid dynasty.
Registan
Registan Square is the most iconic landmark of Samarkand and a shining symbol of the Timurid Renaissance. Meaning "sandy place" in Persian, Registan was the heart of public life in the city for centuries — hosting royal proclamations, festivals, and scholarly debates. From the 15th to the 17th century, it served as a major educational and spiritual hub, surrounded by three majestic madrassas: Ulugbek Madrassa (15th century), Sherdor Madrassa (17th century), and Tillya-Kori Madrassa (17th century). Each of these architectural masterpieces reflects the brilliance of Islamic design with intricate mosaics, grand domes, and beautifully tiled facades. 5.00Bekh met us at the meeting point and proceeded to bring us to see the main sights in historic Samarkand. He is very knowledgeable about it and it was a great tour seeing some fabulous buildings. We would unhesitatingly recommend doing this tour if in Samarkand.

5.00Bekh met us at the meeting place and bought us on a fantastic tour of the historic Samarkand amazing sights. We got some fantastic pics and Bekh took many of us with stunning buildings in the background. He was very knowledgeable and informative about the area. All in all a really good morning and we'd highly recommend doing this tour, if in Samarkand.

5.00We took a short walking tour in Samarkand with Tranquil Holidays in June. Akramanov was our Guide and he was very fluent in English and super Knowledgable. The tour has around 2-3 hours of walking around the main touristic spots in Samarkand. Good tour for the price.
