  I never anticipated being exposed to so many aspects of the richness of geography, culture and gastronomy of Sao Miguel in the course of a day. Joo was a superlative guide and driver, sharing many aspects of his understandable love for his homeland. Although I am prone to motion sickness, Joo's driving through the hilly terrain was impeccable, allowing me to focus fully on the wonders around us. The day spent on this tour was the highlight of multiple stops on vacation. The experience provided by Joo really makes me want to return to the island for an extended experience.

  This was an excellent tour, led by a competent, knowledgeable, super friendly young man named Andre. He had just the right amount of stopping, talking, and just riding in silence. It is a fabulously gorgeous island. Thank you.

  Excellent l tour, with a wonderful tour guide. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and personable. He was also a photographer, so he took some great shots of our group while visiting the beautiful landscape of the Azores.

• Wonderful Custom Scenic Tour of São Miguel in the Azores

  This tour was definitely a custom-tailored highlight of a 3 week vacation! We really enjoyed Jaoa’s flexibility and knowledge of the scenic highlights of São Miguel Island. As a result we were able to visit the Furnas lake and caldera, a tea plantation, partake of a volcano-cooked traditional lunch, see multiple vistas of beautiful scenery, and finish with the pineapple producer’s greenhouses. Our guide is also a professional photographer, and he offered both great ideas for photos AND took some for us. We left with great memories and pictures.

  João was wonderful and took us around the best spot in the beautiful Sao Miguel island. Highly recommend this trip. It was a private excursion for our family of five and he was very flexible.

  It was incredible, would rate 4.9 if I could bcuz nobody's perfect, my only complaint is he called me 'sir' and im a girl, which i think could make some people uncomfortable. It was very cheap for almost 7 hrs.
