  0. Tour guide raíles to show up. I arrived 15 minutes earlier and waited 45 minutes for the guide. I left very disappointed.

  Hugo shared all the major highlight, old(er) and new, in the Historic Center of San Salvador with me, fully fleshing out the context and history of each site and linking them to Salvadoran history thanks to his extensive knowledge. Loved touring the newly opened and renovated National Palace, strolling historical and shady squares, admiring old art nouveau and art deco buildings, examining the modern art and stained glass glories of serene and severe El Rosario Church, and washing down pupusas with horchata at retro eatery Dips. Spent time on each floor at the gorgeous new National Library and picked up handicrafts made by troubled teens at the charity artisanal shop there before sipping Salvadoran coffees at the on-site cafe. Truly a marvelous and expert introduction to this up and coming destination.

  Was stood up by tour guide and directions to meeting point were not clear. My tour was at 8 am. The tour operator called me at 10:30 and said his tour guide was sick and so did not show up. He offered to have someone pick me ap at 1 pm to do the tour but that would have been too hot and miserable. A few days before this I tried to book a different tour with Viator. The ad said it was $69 but when I tried to check out it was somehow $125. I tried an online chat with the Viator rep but 15 minutes and no progress in resolving, I lost interest.

  We got to see a lot of historical sites, he provided us with a-lot of info. I had trouble finding the place but he was patient and waited for us. The tour was a bit boring for us and lengthy . Ours was a half day (2-4 hrs) tour but ended up being a full day (6-8 hrs) tour but we ended up leaving a bit early as we didn’t plan on spending all day for the tour. They also stopped for gas during the tour which was kinda disappointing. But overall we’ve learned a lot !

  The guide Omar was awesome! He explained the importance of various historic buildings in the downtown area and the central area. He gave me a lot of good recommendations in terms of where to go and what to do.

  Not only enjoyed sightseeing, but I also learned a lot about the history, people's lives, etc… It was a very impressive and heartwarming experience. I would like to visit again to learn more about San Salvador. Thank you for an amazing experience!! 観光を楽しむだけでなく、国や街の事、歴史、人々の生活について等、沢山の事を教えて頂き、とても勉強になりました。 もっと知らなくてはいけない事が沢山あると感じ、とても勉強になるツアーでした。 もっとサンサルバドルについて知りたい、見てみたい！と思ったので、必ずまた来たいと思います。 貴重な体験をありがとうございました！
