Viewing the extensive bird life in the Ramsar Convention Walvisbay Wetlands where up 250000 birds can be seen from time to time, to the many Seals in the seal colony ( 50 000+ SEALS) including huge Bulls and Pups, to the magnificent views Sandwich Harbor, where Sea meets Dunes, and the surrounding Dunes have to offer, together with the adrenaline evoking skillful dune driving by the guide, the pure passion and enthusiasm the guide portrays of this beautiful scenic but harsh area. This tour is seldom cancelled due to bad weather, it never rains, but we have strong Sandstorms, should it be cancelled you will be offered another time schedule/date or full refund.
We reserve the right to change the route weather or safety permitting
German speaking guides are very scarce. These will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.
Please note due to the scarcity of German guides we cannot guarantee a German speaking guide, in peak season or when a cruise liner is in the Harbour and 2000guests disembark.
please note all Cruise Liner passengers, your tour pick up time starts an hour after you have docked. The tour will depart latest an hour and a half after the pick up time. Late comers are considered a no show

after picking you up at your hotel we drive to the Flamingos near the Walvisbay Waterfront, from here we pass the Ramsar Wetlands and Lagune, viewing thousands of birds, the pink lakes of the Salt mine on our way to Pelican point where we visit the 70000 strong Seal Colony, from here our journey takes us south to the towering Dunes, where Dunes meet Sea, with breathtaking views and adrenaline evoking dune drive, searching for animal life in this desolate desert area, we discuss history, view this very beautiful but harsh area and then back to your Hotel. Creating unforgettable memories. After this thrilling day you will enjoy your sundowner.
Walvis Bay
We stop at the Walvis bay Lagune and view the thousands of Flamingos and other waders in the important Ramsar Wetland SOME 250 000 birds from time to time in this area then we turn north to the Seal colony. Here 70 000 seals can be seen close by and observed. If we are lucky we will find a Jackal in search of something to eat

5.00The boat trip to see the seals was amazing, followed by an unforgettable Sandwich Harbour drive. Volker is hands down the best guide – calm, knowledgeable, and with a great sense of humor. He made the whole experience relaxed, safe, and full of fun. Highly recommended if you want stunning scenery and a guide who truly loves what he does.

4.00A very good morning with Stephan who is very knowledgeable about the landscape, animals and the conservation aspect of the trip. Would highly recomend. Would be 5 but a little expensive. However, we did get longer than advertised.

Andrew is a fantastic guide who answered all our questions about the animals, nature, and Namibian history while going to great lengths to make our adventure unforgettable. We visited Sandwich Harbour where the driving in the dunes was amazing, and spotted seals, oryx, flamingos, jackals, ostriches, and springbok.
Brilliant day out in a mesmerising landscape.

5.00Brilliant trip down to Sandwich Bay and back to Walvis Bay! Amazing sights. Professionally handled by Gerhard who also happens to be great company. One may as well do the full day tour as time just flew by. Great value for money in my opinion.

5.00Sandwich Harbour is a must when visiting Swakopmund. This half-day tour was great because we were almost first on the dune. Winton was a great driver and told us all about desert, seals, flamingos and life in Namibia. We had a lot of fun. If time is limited in Swakopmund, then this hHalf-Day Tour is great.

Our guide ( Le Clue) was excellent: he explained everything in a clear and engaging way, was very professional, and paid great attention both to the car and to the safety and comfort of all participants. I highly recommend this activity to anyone!

5.00This was special - the Sandwich harbour is something to behold. Andrew, our guide, was friendly, funny and picked us from Swakopmund (an awesome touch!) to Sandwich. He get us informed all the way, pointing out all the things we as tourists would never know. We went through the pink salt pans and onto the beach of Sandwich harbour with the 4x4 (which was unforgettable). Next, on to the top of the dunes for a different view of the harbour. I don't think you'll match a view and landscape like that where the desert literally meets the sea. We stopped for lunch on top of the dunes, we went down and Andrew showed us how the river that runs beneath the sand. You can dig for half a metre down to access clean drinking water. Very surreal. We spotted Oryx and Jackals in the bush on the way back - and baby seals chilling on the beach. I recommend this tour - it's special and a must do.

5.00This will be one of the highlights of our trip! Our tour guide LeClue made this experience the best! Everything was taken care of and made sure that the kayaking and dune drive was everything we hoped for. I would defer recommend very one to do this if they are in walvisbaai or swakopmund
