Viewing the extensive bird life in the Ramsar Convention Walvisbay Wetlands where up 250000 birds can be seen from time to time, to the many Seals in the seal colony ( 50 000+ SEALS) including huge Bulls and Pups, to the magnificent views Sandwich Harbor, where Sea meets Dunes, and the surrounding Dunes have to offer, together with the adrenaline evoking skillful dune driving by the guide, the pure passion and enthusiasm the guide portrays of this beautiful scenic but harsh area. This tour is seldom cancelled due to bad weather, it never rains, but we have strong Sandstorms, should it be cancelled you will be offered another time schedule/date or full refund.
We reserve the right to change the route weather or safety permitting
German speaking guides are very scarce. These will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.
Please note due to the scarcity of German guides we cannot guarantee a German speaking guide, in peak season or when a cruise liner is in the Harbour and 2000guests disembark.
please note all Cruise Liner passengers, your tour pick up time starts an hour after you have docked. The tour will depart latest an hour and a half after the pick up time. Late comers are considered a no show

after picking you up at your hotel we drive to the Flamingos near the Walvisbay Waterfront, from here we pass the Ramsar Wetlands and Lagune, viewing thousands of birds, the pink lakes of the Salt mine on our way to Pelican point where we visit the 70000 strong Seal Colony, from here our journey takes us south to the towering Dunes, where Dunes meet Sea, with breathtaking views and adrenaline evoking dune drive, searching for animal life in this desolate desert area, we discuss history, view this very beautiful but harsh area and then back to your Hotel. Creating unforgettable memories. After this thrilling day you will enjoy your sundowner.
Walvis Bay
We stop at the Walvis bay Lagune and view the thousands of Flamingos and other waders in the important Ramsar Wetland SOME 250 000 birds from time to time in this area then we turn north to the Seal colony. Here 70 000 seals can be seen close by and observed. If we are lucky we will find a Jackal in search of something to eat

5.00One of the highlights of our Namibia trip! The full-day Sandwich Harbour tour was perfectly organized, with breathtaking views where the ocean meets the Namib Desert. The dune driving was exciting and safe, and lunch on the beach was delicious and beautifully set up. Our guide, Riaan, was professional, knowledgeable, and friendly, making the experience even more special. A must-do when visiting Swakopmund or Walvis Bay—highly recommended!

5.00Due to the very good reviews, I had already booked the tour from home, with the wish that we would like to have a German speaking guide. This wish was fulfilled with Volker and he picked us up at our B&B on time. Initially we still had reservations, as the tour lasts over 6 hours, but Volker skilfully drove us between water and dunes to Sandwich Bay and told us a lot of interesting things about animals, land and people. Long story short: Volker was a direct hit!! We felt absolutely safe during the whole time and can recommend the tour with Volker 100%! Dear Volker, thank you for the entertaining day and for this great experience!

5.00Volker was our amazing guide for this tour. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the area. But overall, he was a really fun guy. His drive through the dunes was the highlight of the trip. I highly recommend this tour.

5.00Was an amazing tour. So much fun. Andrew was a great guide with lots of information and so many stories. The ride was exhilarating and walking down the dune was great. The lunch was excellent. Great sandwiches, desserts and drinks. We loved every minute. Was very much worth the money we paid.

5.00Had a fantastic day out in the dunes with Andrew! Felt very safe and well cared for. Lots of interesting local insights and a tasty lunch. Highly recommend booking this tour as the views are spectacular and running down the dunes was incredibly fun! Seeing seal pups was a delightful bonus!

5.00This tour was such a memorable part of our journey. Everything was perfectly organized, and Riaan truly went the extra mile. We loved exploring nature and seeing sea lions, whales, and other beautiful animals. The picnic spot with snacks and drinks made it even better. A definite must-try!
