El Santuario de Chimayo

Here we will stop and visit the Santuario de Chimayo, old church completed in 1816. This place has healing dirt and what we call El Portico, or mini well of dirt that you are welcome to take with you. This is the largest pilgrimage site in the US, over 300,000 visitors each year and thousands of healed people have come out of this place. Very historic and spiritual place.

Taos Pueblo

Here we will visit the 1,000 year old Taos Pueblo. We will have a local Taos Pueblo person give us a tour of the Pueblo. We learn about their history, culture, traditions, and much more. Then you will be able to shop and visit some of the vendors.

Really enjoyable. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, and went well above board to help my husband and me regarding my husband’s need to use a wheelchair during the trip. His choice of a local restaurant for lunch was ideal. He was just a friendly, well informed guide. The van itself was very comfortable.

Gerard came to our rescue when the government shut down and canceled admission to Bandolier National Park. While we were driving to Santa Fe he reached out to offer us some alternative day tours. Although our original reaction was disappointment we soon felt confident that we were in great hands and our trip to Taos Pueblo was wonderful and inspiring. Great communicator and knowledgeable tour guide.

This was a wonderful travel experience. Thoughtfully designed. The founder and guide Jerard provided engaging information about the history of the this area and the sites we visited. He made this a thoughtful and memorable day. Highly recommend this tour experience of Chimayo and Taos Pueblo along the high road and low road. This tour is not to be missed. Thank you!

We went to Chimayo and the Taos Pueblo. Lunch in Taos. Jerard Vigilante was so very professional and friendly. He was a fountain of information and his experience paid off mightily.

Jerard was our guide via Vigilante Tours. His family has lived in the area for generations. He had a wealth of knowledge to share both about Chimayo and Taos Pueblo. He has developed and maintained personal relationships with personnel at both locales to provide his clients with truly unique experiences! We even got to see the Rio Grande Gorge from the bridge. A delicious lunch was included in the tour. Highly recommended!
