We will start at 3 pm and then enter in to the middle of the Andes Mountains range, we will witness the majestic sunset it offers. We will pass through the Cajon del Maipo valley, following the Maipo River, and travel through various unique villages until we reach the famous Chocolate House. After admiring its marvellous architecture, we will head to the Veil of the Bride Waterfall, where you can appreciate the power of the water and take photos!

Next, we will explore the natural Hill hot springs. These medicinal waters range in temperature from 55°C to 30°C across seven pools. You can relax in the hot waters that flow from the volcano.

We will enjoy the sunset from a viewpoint overlooking the volcano and the towering peaks of the Andes, followed by a traditional Chilean barbecue paired with wines from central and southern Chile.

The barbecue includes a four-course menu.

To conclude our evening, we will marvel at the starry skies offered by the Andes Mountains.

The PROS: breakfast and lunch at the Club Aleman Andino (hostel) were great! the 2 gentleman who took us off road to get to the hot springs were also great, they stayed with our bags while we enjoyed the pools without worry. The stop at the hot chocolate house was fun. The CONS: a non-english speaking driver picked us up. we drove the 2+ hours to the hostel without learning a word about the area. nothing, just a quiet long drive into the canyon. we also didn't go to the waterfall, and not sure why. we asked the tour operator why we didn't make that stop and we were never responded to. We booked a 'tour', not a driver. Many of the reviews gave high praise to their tour guides, but unfortunately we didn't have much of a 'tour', we were just shuttled between stops and skipped one of the main attractions without explanation. I would contact the operator ahead of time to make sure these items are addressed before you pay (an actual tour guide with you and not skipping any of the attractions). This is a very expensive excursion and I don't feel we received what we paid the high price for as a family of 5.

This Cajón del Maipo afternoon tour was one of the most memorable experiences of our time in Chile. From the moment we left Santiago, the journey into the Andes was filled with stunning scenery, charming villages, and great company. Our host, Christopher, was fantastic—knowledgeable, friendly, and made sure everyone felt comfortable and well looked after throughout the day. We made a fun stop at the House of Chocolate before continuing through the picturesque valley to the beautiful Veil of the Bride Waterfall. The highlight was definitely soaking in the natural hot springs of Termas Valle de Colina. Surrounded by mountains and warmed by volcanic heat, the pools were incredibly relaxing, with a variety of temperatures to suit everyone. As the sun set, we made our way to a cozy and authentic 1930s German mountaineering chalet, where a roaring fire and warm atmosphere awaited us. We were treated to a delicious Chilean feast featuring charcuterie boards, traditional pastries, roasted vegetables, longaniza, sausages, beef, and more. There was also a great selection of Chilean wines, beers, and juices, with gluten-free options available as well. We ended the evening inside the chalet, relaxing by the fire and soaking up the peaceful mountain vibe before heading back to Santiago. The tour was well-organized, beautifully paced, and offered a perfect mix of nature, relaxation, and local culture. Huge thanks to Christopher for making it such a special experience. Highly recommended!

  • Stargazing is worth the long tour!

I would have given this tour 5 stars, except that we were stopped by the police for an hour due to lack of documentation for the car and lost an hour. Our group had to skip the waterfall, so I have no idea if it's nice. Otherwise, it is such an unforgettable experience! Stargazing in particular - it is not easy to see such a magnificent sky. The guides were actually really well prepared, pointing to various constellations with a laser. Dinner could have been a little shorter, but the variety and amount of food was incredible. Be prepared to be freezing, even around the fire - bring hats, gloves, jackets, etc. Hot springs are beautiful, with various temperatures, but accommodations around them are pretty basic, shower has cold water only. Bring towels and water shoes. Also, if your group gets to hot springs after dark, there are no electric lights there at all, you will have to use a flashlight to walk around. The house of chocolate is cute and a nice rest stop. Please be prepared for at least 2 - 2.5 hours drive, traffic out of the city can be challenging. We got back to our hotel at 1:30am (like I said, dinner could have been a bit shorter).
