This experience requires a Minimum number of 2 participants, if this is cancelled because minimum is not met then you will be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.
This experience is seldom cancelled due to bad weather, it does not rain here but we have strong desert winds sometime. If it is cancelled due to bad weather, it might be rescheduled to a new time, or another date, or a full refund.
This tour can be upgraded to include Champagne, oysters and Sushi, please advise us of your special occasion or if you want a high end tour.
We reserve the right to change the route, weather or safety permitting.
This tour can be chosen as a Private Tour, minimum 1 person maximum 6 pervehicle please select under Private Tour.

Please note due to the scarcity of German guides we cannot guarantee a German speaking guide, in peak season or when a cruise liner is in the Harbour and 2000guests disembark.
German speaking guides are very scarce. These will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.
please note all Cruise Liner passengers, your tour pick up time starts an hour after you have docked. The tour will depart latest an hour and a half after the pick up time. Late comers are considered a no show

Our journey takes us through Walvis Bay, lagune wetlands where thousands of pink Flamingos can be seen, past the enormous Salt Mine harvesting 100000 tons per month, south along the beach to Sandwich Harbor where the Dune belt meets the sea . See the waves carve away the dunes at high tide where it sometimes becomes impossible to enter this beautiful and remote area. We go on a roller coaster dune ride up to the view point with absolute surprise to see the stunning views and the quiet desert ambiance. The huge sea of sand , the dunes, have that special kind of magic ...absolutely unique. Our knowledgeable guides will tell you about the desert area and skillfully drive you to the best spots. Adrenaline soaked dune drives , searching for animals in this desolate area , learn how the plants and animals have evolved to live in the desert. Absolutely Awesome , all of it. A must do when in Namibia. the full day tour has 5s tops more than this half day tour

Our Tour takes us through the Ramsar convention Walvisbay lagune wetlands where up to 250 000 and 54 species of birds can be seen from time: Pelicans, Flamingos, Plovers, Sandpipers and other endemic Birds can be seen. We drop our tyre air pressure and discuss the many birds

5.00Andrew was an absolutely outstanding guide on our Desert and Dunes tour – everything from the punctual pickup to the drop-off was perfect and seamless. He shared a wealth of interesting and engaging facts throughout the day, making the experience both fun and educational. The drive along the stunning route between the dunes and the ocean was breathtaking. What truly stood out was Andrew’s extraordinary skill behind the wheel. Navigating the very steep dunes requires real expertise, yet at no point did we feel anything but completely safe – his calm confidence and precise driving made it thrilling without ever being worrying. 5.00We had a truly wonderful experience. As Namibians, we have always known about this area and heard many stories about it, but seeing it in person was something we will never forget. Volker, our guide, has an incredible depth of knowledge and shared so much history about the area that we were not aware of before, which made the experience both interesting and fun. We were treated to breathtaking landscapes that will stay with us forever. What stood out just as much was how safe and professionally run the experience was, with clear respect for the conservation and protection of this special area. It was evident that great care is taken to preserve the environment while allowing guests to truly appreciate its beauty. This is a memory we will cherish for a lifetime.

5.00This was a very fun tour of the dunes on the coast and a nearby salt mine. The tour did go a bit over the 4 hour time advertised, but it was only about 45 minutes more. As Americans, we really enjoyed the experience.

5.00Thanks to our tourguide Stephan we had a wonderful Sandwich Harbour Tour today. We enjoyed the landscape very much, felt very safe while driving up and down the dunes, asked a lot of questions (even our two boys constantly talked with Stephan) and got interesting answers. We would recommend this 7h tour, because you have enough time for stops and photos. The lunch was delicious and we all were happy. Thanks a lot, Stephan!

5.00I really enjoyed tours. Everything was organized. The driver, Riaan was very kind. I saw a lot of dunes, wild animals and pink salt lake. They were stunning. I ate delicious food at the dunes. I was satisfied with tours. I will recommend the tours to my friends. Thank you Riaan.

5.00Our guide was LeClue that day. He has a lot of knowledge about everything we were interested in and shared his knowledge with us all day. We really liked it. The view at Sandwich Harbour was fantastic, and the little lunch at the most beautiful vantage point was the cherry on the cream.

5.00What an amazing tour with the most amazing tour guide Ferdie. We started our trip in walvis bay, and all along our journey our tour guide told us to much of this beautiful country around us. We were even treated with a lavish lunch on top of the dunes with the most spectacular view. I would definitely recommend this trip, and if you are blessed enough to have ferdie tell him Nadene from Namibia says “hello!”
