This experience is seldom cancelled due to bad weather, it does not rain here but we have strong desert winds sometime. If it is cancelled due to bad weather, it might be rescheduled to a new time, or another date, or a full refund.
This tour can be upgraded to include Champagne, oysters and Sushi, please advise us of your special occasion or if you want a high end tour.
We reserve the right to change the route, weather or safety permitting.

Please note due to the scarcity of German guides we cannot guarantee a German speaking guide, in peak season or when a cruise liner is in the Harbour and 2000guests disembark.
German speaking guides are very scarce. These will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.
please note all Cruise Liner passengers, your tour pick up time starts an hour after you have docked. The tour will depart latest an hour and a half after the pick up time. Late comers are considered a no show

Our journey takes us through Walvis Bay, lagune wetlands where thousands of pink Flamingos can be seen, past the enormous Salt Mine harvesting 100000 tons per month, south along the beach to Sandwich Harbor where the Dune belt meets the sea . See the waves carve away the dunes at high tide where it sometimes becomes impossible to enter this beautiful and remote area. We go on a roller coaster dune ride up to the view point with absolute surprise to see the stunning views and the quiet desert ambiance. The huge sea of sand , the dunes, have that special kind of magic ...absolutely unique. Our knowledgeable guides will tell you about the desert area and skillfully drive you to the best spots. Adrenaline soaked dune drives , searching for animals in this desolate area , learn how the plants and animals have evolved to live in the desert. Absolutely Awesome , all of it. 5.00This tour wasn’t just about taking pretty pictures (although we definitely got those too 😉). It was a real adventure drive with dunes, adrenaline, and plenty of “wow, did that just happen?” moments – and at the same time a crash course in Namibia. Le Clue, our guide, is hands down one of the best drivers we’ve ever had and a true walking encyclopedia.📚 During the dune drive and at Sandwich Harbour, he shared an incredible amount of knowledge about Namibia – from the region’s history and geology to the country’s economy and everyday life. 🇳🇦We didn’t only leave with full camera rolls, but also with a head full of stories, facts, and insights. Equal parts beautiful, educational, and adventurous – the perfect mix.🤩

5.00We booked an afternoon 4 x 4 tour of the dunes which was absolutely fantastic. We saw flamingoes, a jackal on the beach, seals in the surf and other amazing bird life. Our guide Winton was so knowledgeable and friendly. I loved the thrilling pace of the drive and the ground we covered. The views were absolutely spectacular and we had multiple view points and a lovely break for a beach picnic. I cannot recommend this excursion highly enough.

5.00We had an unforgettable experience with Desert, Dunes and Dust Tours! Our guide Riaan was absolutely exceptional, knowledgeable and super friendly and professional. He shared so much fascinating information with us from local culture to desert survival tips, and his passion really made everything so special. Thanks to his experience, we always felt safe and in good hands, even during the more adventurous parts of the trip. Best rollercoaster ride ever! I couldn’t believe anyone could drive like this! 45 degrees up and down the dunes. We absolutely recommend this experience to anyone looking for a unique experience in Namibia.

5.00Great tour, with pelicans, pink lake, colored Namib gecko, freshly caught mussels, found bottle mail, shabracken jackal, dune safari, great views, picnic in the desert by the sea, explanations of the irony, red desert sand and bottles to fill yourself, many seals and enough time in peace to record everything and ask questions and all in a group of four + driver. Thank you. I can only recommend the trip.

5.00We got picked up at 8am and headed straight to Sandwich Harbour to beat the crowd arriving from a cruise. Really appreciated the flexibility in scheduling that has enhanced our experience. Highlight of the day was kayaking with the seals. We got so close to them! We’ve learnt a lot about Namibia and the Walvis Bay/Swakop region; Leclue was a very knowledgeable guide and kept us entertained for 8 hours with his humour and jokes. Overall an enjoyable and great day!

5.00We arrived by cruise into Walvis Bay and were joined by another couple for a 4x4 Sandwich harbour and dunes drives. Winton was waiting at the gate with a board with our names on and this trip became a top highlight of our overall holiday. Winton, our driver, was highly informative, pointing out wildlife and scenic vistas. He gave us plenty of time to capture treasured memories but also kept us on time so we were able to fit everything in. Lunch was perfectly situated on the beach where the dunes meet the sea. With so many visitors from the cruise doing various tours on and around the dunes we could have felt hurried or crowded but this was never the case. Winton chose spectacular drives and vistas that kept us ‘wowed’ throughout. The booking process was completed professionally and efficiently over email and we were given the option to pay via CC or South African Rand. Their organisation was excellent.
