This experience requires a Minimum number of 2 participants, if this is cancelled because minimum is not met then you will be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.
This experience is seldom cancelled due to bad weather, it does not rain here but we have strong desert winds sometime. If it is cancelled due to bad weather, it might be rescheduled to a new time, or another date, or a full refund.
This tour can be upgraded to include Champagne, oysters and Sushi, please advise us of your special occasion or if you want a high end tour.
We reserve the right to change the route, weather or safety permitting.
This tour can be chosen as a Private Tour, minimum 1 person maximum 6 pervehicle please select under Private Tour.

Please note due to the scarcity of German guides we cannot guarantee a German speaking guide, in peak season or when a cruise liner is in the Harbour and 2000guests disembark.
German speaking guides are very scarce. These will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.
please note all Cruise Liner passengers, your tour pick up time starts an hour after you have docked. The tour will depart latest an hour and a half after the pick up time. Late comers are considered a no show

Our journey takes us through Walvis Bay, lagune wetlands where thousands of pink Flamingos can be seen, past the enormous Salt Mine harvesting 100000 tons per month, south along the beach to Sandwich Harbor where the Dune belt meets the sea . See the waves carve away the dunes at high tide where it sometimes becomes impossible to enter this beautiful and remote area. We go on a roller coaster dune ride up to the view point with absolute surprise to see the stunning views and the quiet desert ambiance. The huge sea of sand , the dunes, have that special kind of magic ...absolutely unique. Our knowledgeable guides will tell you about the desert area and skillfully drive you to the best spots. Adrenaline soaked dune drives , searching for animals in this desolate area , learn how the plants and animals have evolved to live in the desert. Absolutely Awesome , all of it. A must do when in Namibia. the full day tour has 5s tops more than this half day tour
Flamingo lagoon
Our Tour takes us through the Ramsar convention Walvisbay lagune wetlands where up to 250 000 and 54 species of birds can be seen from time: Pelicans, Flamingos, Plovers, Sandpipers and other endemic Birds can be seen. We drop our tyre air pressure and discuss the many birds

Duration: 7 hours: This FULL DAY TOUR is ideal for the relaxed traveler. We do beach, dune walks, have more stops, at Bird Island and Salt mine

5.00What is the word?? Don't squirm long, Uwe ask! We had our tour with Andrew and Uwe. We had no ideas about the tour and were totally thrilled from the minute. Uwe and Andrew both brought a great knowledge of the animals etc and told us. You could just see that they love their job and they enjoy it so much. Service and also the car was great and clean. At least before the tour haha 😂 For me a big dream came true because we saw not only sea lions but also whales. They have responded to personal requests and also orient their tours accordingly. It was just unforgettable for us. They have earned the award 10000%. We will come back!! Definitely 💯 thank you Uwe and Andrew

5.00This tour is highly recommended, especially with Volker. He speaks fluent German. It was a great experience driving up and down the dunes. Volker explained and showed a lot. If you want group photos he has fulfilled the wishes very gladly. We would do the tour again and again with Volker.

5.00Winton was one of the best tour guides we've had and this harbour tour is a must do in Swakopmund: 10/10 trip with once-in-a-lifetime views. Winton was incredibly knowledgable on the wildlife and Namibian culture, as he is born and raised in the area. This was our favorite day on a week's honeymoon in Nambia.

5.00We had a great tour with Riaan. He can tell so much about his country and it doesn't get boring because he does it with so much wit and anecdotes. We definitely had a lot of fun. He is also committed to the environment . As soon as there is garbage in the desert or on the beach, it is picked up and disposed of properly. We laughed and saw so much on this tour. Just a great guide. Thumbs up and 5 stars . Also the picnic was very delicious .
