Our Whisky Tasting and Tales tour is unlike any other whisky experience in Edinburgh. We’ll welcome you into our cosy private whisky lounge, where you’ll sip your way through four Single Malt Scotch Whiskies from different regions of Scotland. Along the way, our guide will share stories, history, and whisky folklore in true Scottish style. Even if you’re not a whisky lover, it’s a brilliant way to immerse yourself in Scotland’s culture, traditions, and warm hospitality.

The ticket price includes the cost of the whiskies (ONLY IF YOU DO NOT SELECT THE "NO WHISKY" OPTION. 4 great single malt Scotch whiskies will be served over the tour. Drink alternatives are available upon request for those who do not drink whisky.

The tasting takes place in our bespoke whisky lounge at Hot Toddy. You will sample four whiskies from the four major whisky producing regions of Scotland and hear tales from the world of whisky and Scotland's folklore.

Burns Night Special

Duration: 2 hours: 2 hours of whisky tasting and storytelling. 3 Course menu dinner afterwards in the same location to celebrate Robert Burns
4 whiskies & 3 Course Meal: Includes 4 tastings of single malt scotch whiskies during the 2 hours tour 3 course set meal dinner after the tour

Hi. We are two couple visiting Edinburgh and booked on to this tour after reading some excellent reviews we booked this tour. Not knowing what to expect we turned up had a hot toddy( when in Scotland) and we were invited downstairs into a lovely room for the experience. Ben the tour guide was amazing. His humorous was of teaching us the way the whiskeys are made to taste different flavour’s was really good. His story’s made us all laugh and was a good way for us to learn. The tasting was also good 😁 all in all excellent value for money and will definitely recommend to others.

It was a unique experience. Even the welcome was very warm. Afterwards we were ushered into the elegant cellar vault and introduced to our “story plate” - Ben C. A truly gifted narrator! We were briefly introduced to the secrets of whisky production and the actual tasting. Most of the time Scottish stories and fairy tales were told in a fantastic, entertaining and exciting way. In short, time passed so quickly - a clear sign that we were having fun. We can recommend this event to everyone!

It was an interesting tour by a very committed guide (Max). Max told us about the history of whiskey and a number of anecdotes in the history of Scotland. Four different whiskey varieties were tasted with a simple and good overview of each variety. Simply a very good whiskey tasting.

If you want to have a fun evening book this tour. Eleanor was the perfect hostess….knowledgeable, entertaining, enthusiastic and to top it all off she can play the fiddle! Our group of four had a wonderful evening!

Ben did such an amazing job telling stories and introducing us to various whiskies. I went with my mom, who really doesn't enjoy alcohol in general, and it was worth it to her just for the storytelling! Very lovely and entertaining. The location, Hot Toddy's, had a beautiful ambience as well. I also learned a thing or two about Scotch Whisky! Not normally my drink of choice, but after learning about it from Ben, I feel like I am able to enjoy and appreciate drinking it much more.

Outstanding event. Host was charming, knowledgeable and. Interesting. The two hours flew by! I especially appreciated that I could have wine rather than whiskey as we were participating for my husband.
