We loved being able to talk while tasting whiskey that we had never tasted. We learned a lot in a Relaxed Mood and in a very nice place. Thanks Marcos!

This weekend I had the opportunity to enjoy a tasting of four very different coon Marcos whiskeys, and it was a spectacular experience. Not only because of the flavor, but because of everything you learn about the nuances, textures and aromas that each bottle hides. The best thing about the experience was discovering how the perception of each drink changes when taken calmly, learning to identify aromas and how time in barrels transforms the character of the distillate. If you like whiskey — or just fancy doing something different — I highly recommend trying a guided tasting. You don’t need to be expert: just be curious and want to enjoy yourself. You go out with the most fine-tuned palate, the head full of stories... and probably a new favorite whiskey.

Aussie Dave - That Tour Guide with the Glasses was exceptional! He created an educational and FUN experience for us all that not only introduced us to the subtleties of drinking scotch, but shared a little bit of the history and lore of the making and drinking Scotch Whisky. He was entertaining and we all learned a few new things about Scotch and Scotland. I HIGHLY recommend this as a fantastic introduction to tasting whisky in Edinburgh!

My husband and I are on a bucket list trip to Scotland. I chose this guided tour based on good reviews. Valeria was a top-notch guide: she was friendly, personable, very knowledgeable, and enthusiastic. Learning details from history and even the influence of famed Scottish writer Sir Walter Scott enhanced the learning experience more than just learning about whisky making process. Venue was pleasant as well. Would highly recommend this tour.

So first let me say we are not whiskey drinkers. That being said, we really enjoyed this experience. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable and patient. He took us to the Waverley pub and had our tasting all set up on the second floor. He explained the whisky making process, the different regions and their meaning in the whiskey making. We then tasted 3 different whiskies. The Glenkinchie was my favorite while the Old Pulteney was my partner’s and I could not even finish the Kilchoman. The Glenkinchie was smooth and had a butterscotch flavor to it. The Old Pulteney, while weaker than the Glenkinchie gave me a slight burn. It had a citrus taste to it. Finally the Kilchoman was Smokey and earthy with a taste of cigars.

It was a really excellent experience. Learned a lot about the making of scotch whiskey, what is or isn’t scotch whiskey and why, the history. It was a small group, only 4 people, which made it easier to ask questions and interact with the presenter. Really enjoyed it.
