  10 of us visited whilst on a long weekend in the Highlands. A walk round Balmoral first then a minute’s drive up to the distillery. Moira was a superb host, friendly, informative and fun. Interesting tour seeing both the process and learning the history. The staff also recommended another Whiskey in the shop based on my stated preferences which proved to be superb. Great fun, thank you.

  We did the Distillery tour with Stu. Even though they were in their annual repair period and not actually doing any distilling it was cool to see all the behind the scenes equipment. Stu was very informative and personable. My husband enjoyed the tasting and took home a bottle that he filled from the cask himself. Great experience!

  The staff were incredible. They squeezed us in when we missed the initial tour time so we could get the whole experience. Our guide, Tom, was informative and fun. He provided an excellent description on how to smell and taste the whiskey. The whiskey itself was incredible. So happy we stopped by.

  Drove for nearly 3 hours in the best scenery in the world ,weather was well above normal but we saw snow in Glenshee an added bonus . Lovely distillary very good tour but our guide made a remark that upset us . There were two families on our tour one paid for the more expensive one and us the cheapest , meaning two tastes of whisky for us and 4 for them . When we entered the tasting room the table was set for 4 people and 4 glasses each the other 3 people and 2 glasses our guide suddenly said oh yours are the cheap seats . We were so offended, please let him know were staying in the superior rooms in the most expensive hotel in Dundee for 15 nights and we were also there in the Master suite for 15 days 6 months ago so i think we could afford the most expensive tour if we wanted . We didnt even taste the whisky left with it in little bottles . Perhaps it was his idea of some sort of joke but it certainly wasnt to us .

• Royal Lochnagar..A Royal Treat!

  The Royal Lochnagar experience was wonderful. Dave was our guide and he was informative, insightful, funny, and helpful all at once. The history of Royal Lochnagar is something to be proud of and they provide a great view of it from their historical mini-museum in their retail building and talk about it extensively during the tour. The process is interesting and worth you investment, both in money and time. The product is delicious and I highly recommend to draw your own bottle from the cask if you are looking for a unique keepsake. We went during the week, midday and were literally the only ones on the tour. When taking the tour, make sure you take in the cask center of excellence they have established at Royal Lochnagar, it alone, is worth the price of admission! Imagine, you are walking the same grounds that literal royalty has trod upon for years!

  Great experience, having no knowledge of the whisky making process, Stuart (our guide) provided us with all the necessary information and allowed us to taste 3 different whiskys and appreciate the differences.

  We came when the distillery was in its winter shut down for maintenance so didn’t have a tour just went for the tasting. We tried several from the area, a great experience, and learned a lot. We loved the stories of times gone by and how the brand is developing. Great staff, we felt very welcome.

  We did our tour with sally anne, she was extremely knowledgable and answered all questions asked. We were really happy with our tour and tour guide and couldn’t recommend her or the tour enough!
