This tour offers 2 different kayaking options for you to choose from: Seal Kayak tour and the Sunset Kayak Tour. It is the first kayak tour in New Zealand to offer hands free kayaking. Now with the largest human muscle group in play, kayaking becomes easier and more efficient than ever.
Come get up close and personal with the New Zealand fur seal as they play around and under your hands free pedal kayak. Taking photos/selfies have never been easier now you can capture all your moments without stopping!

All Seal tours are guided with a 100% chance to see the New Zealand fur seal. The seal kayak tour runs for 2.5 - 3 hours.

5.00Absolute loved this. It was very relaxing, the tour guide was giving us lots of information, and we saw a few seals relaxing on the rocks. It was a fantastic experience, highly recommend this.
More than worth it with an excellent guide!

5.00Awesome! De gids was fun, onderhoudend en heel professioneel. Wildlife ten top! Top! Dolfijnen, zeehonden en zeevogels gespot met deskundige uitleg.

5.00Our guide was very knowledgeable and informative about the wildlife and Kaikoura in general. He gave us great recommendations for our stay in Kaikoura, we really want to come back now to visit! Seeing the seals in their natural habitats was absolutely stunning. The views were amazing, we were so lucky to have glorious sunshine! Finally the kayaks- we have never used pedal kayaks before now. It was sooo relaxing and fun using the pedal kayaks and has inspired us to seek out more. We travelled so far across the sea and saw so much. Great company and a great tour, thanks again!

5.00We booked a sunset tour but alas the sea was just too rough so we had to rebook for the next morning. I know that making these calls are really difficult for tour operators but I appreciated Charlie’s commitment to safety and to a positive experience. We were able to rebook for the next morning and what a lovely experience it was. Charlie was knowledgeable and just a terrific tour guide! The kayaks are so easy to use that you don’t even feel like you are working. The entire experience was so relaxing and pure fun. We saw dusky dolphins and the seals on the rocks and a jelly fish and a petrel bird right up close. It was just pure fun!

5.00We had a super fun afternoon kayaking between the seals and dolphins. The kayaks are genius. No paddles but pedals to move forward. A very nice system that keeps your hands free to take photos and videos. You need those free hands because there was a spectacular amount to see. Seals 50 cm from the kayak. Dozens of dolphins who did somersaults for our kayaks. We spent two and a half hours on the road with two guides. Those guys were very friendly and relaxed. In short....a very nice trip that we recommend without further ado.
Absolutely worth doing while visiting Kaikoura!

5.00I had an awesome time with Seal Kayak Kaikoura -- they use really cool pedal kayaks by Hobie Cat. As an experienced kayaker i was a bit skeptical if this would be enjoyable... it TOTALLY was... we had some viewing of seals sunning themselves and even had a bit of viewing Dusky Dolphins! The hands-free kayaks were super comfortable to use even heading into the wind and/or waves, and made it easy to take photos. The guides (Charlie & Logan) did an excellent job educating on the mammals and showing us a great time-- highly recommend this team if you ever visit Kaikoura !

5.00A truely excellent time had by all !despite my initial misgivings..the family were all on board from the outset but I was definitely going outside my comfort zone but now I am so glad I did it with the help & expertise from r wonderful guide Bailey..so knowledgeable so motivating & so funny!thank u so much guys for a great family memory!

5.00Had an amazing morning with Seal Kayak Kaikoura! Connor is a fantastic local guide with loads of knowledge of the local wildlife and Kaikoura. The pedal kayak was a definite plus and we saw plenty of fur seals up close. Highly recommend.
