This tour offers 2 different kayaking options for you to choose from: Seal Kayak tour and the Sunset Kayak Tour. It is the first kayak tour in New Zealand to offer hands free kayaking. Now with the largest human muscle group in play, kayaking becomes easier and more efficient than ever.
Come get up close and personal with the New Zealand fur seal as they play around and under your hands free pedal kayak. Taking photos/selfies have never been easier now you can capture all your moments without stopping!

Seal Kayak tour
All Seal tours are guided with a 100% chance to see the New Zealand fur seal. The seal kayak tour runs for 2.5 - 3 hours.
Sunset Kayak Tour
The Sunset Kayak tour is my personal favourite with still a 100% chance to encounter the New Zealand fur seal it the best way to Finnish your day in Kaikoura.

5.00Excellence. Our family of 5 loved the experience. We were lucky enough to spot a little blue penguin toddling along, two dolphins and then got up close to witness the seals rubbing themselves down in the seaweed and shallows off the rocks. Our excellent guide was self-assured, joyful, wise, obviously loved the region for its many notable features and rich history. We learned much and laughed just enough. We were given space to enjoy the paddle and felt safe & seen the entire time. Thank you, Seal Kayak Kaikoura and Gramma Cathy! The morning will be remembered by all 3 generations present!

5.00Great weather and enough info from guides to keep it interesting and just getting out for a fun paddle. Paddle boats easy to use and propel. We were bringing some overseas family for a tour, and as we have fished etc in the area before, were unsure if this would be any value…we were wrong! It was such a great time and so beautiful. Thanks to our guides L&C, for chill and friendly vibes.

5.00This was amazing, we were excited to see the seals but then the dolphins came out to play and completely stole the show all the way back to shore at sunset. My Girlfriend commented, "This was the most special day of my life". More than this.... Levi our guide was an amazing host, his local knowledge and Maori language imput really made this experience all the more special. The kayaks are operated with a propeller like system driven by our legs so we were able to take some remarkable videos and photos. 10/10 for sure.

5.00What a magical experience. We were a small group, only 4 people, and we got so lucky. There were so many seals both on lands a d in the water, swimming meter away from us. Then, dolphins. That was unexpected, but there were so many of them, even swimming under our kayak and jumping. And to finish.. a whale. Could not have asked for more.

5.00This stunning pedal-kayak experience guarantees views of fur seals, and sightings of dolphins are quite common as well. This adventurous trip is suitable for family and friends, and allows people of all ages to experience this beautiful and unique sight. Our guides, (Charlie and Bailey) were kind and helpful, and kept us interested with informative facts and the occasional sighting of dolphins and seals. I highly recommend and encourage all ages to join this breathtaking sight, and the trip offers much more than just seal watching. — Roan

5.00We booked this having never used a pedal kayak and unsure of what to expect. The kayaks are really comfortable and easy to use - far easier than a paddle kayak. Waterproof bags are provided as well as good quality spray jackets and buoyancy aids. We had a brilliant experience out on the water in a small group led by Logan. He was friendly, relaxed and knowledgeable about the wildlife and the area and shared lots of fascinating facts, as well as offering to take photos for each individual kayak - a really nice touch. We got up close to seals and all sorts of sea birds and it was a wonderful way to spend a morning. If in doubt, definitely book this trip - we loved it!

5.00This trip was amazing!! Levi was a great guide, and all the team were really quick and helpful when rebooking us due to potential bad weather. Levi was really knowledgeable, we felt so safe and had the best time! It’s an absolute must do if you’re in Kaikoura
