  • A Lovely Day

Our day started with being collected from our Hotel, this certainly made things very easy for us. Checkin to get our tickets and to organise the bike hire was very easy. The trip down the Swan River was great and was enjoyable. Once we arrived at the Island it was very easy to collect our bikes and then commence to explore the Island. It was quite a warm day so I do recommend sun protection and also insect repellent. We spent our day cycling to different areas of the Island and enjoyed eating at a couple of the eateries on the Island. Surprisingly when we were away from the populated areas of the Island we thought that we might see Quoka’s in their natural environment however this was not to be. It would appear that these cutie’s have become quite used to humans and we only saw them in the populated areas. There are many signs to say don’t feed to touch the Quoka’s however we did observe that this was not complied with. The kids certainly had mixed emotions some were scared and then were very excited to see them. Overall we had a great day.

Amazing day Check in at Barrack Jetty was seamless. Great cruise down the Swan with some interesting commentary. Bike delivery at rottnest was great. Would definitely recommend this trip to anyone. Points to consider - take water as outside the main settlement water stations are scarce. It's a bit hilly but average fitness is fine. I only did the medium and small loop ad wanted to stop. Pick up a map before you leave Perth ad this means you can get on your way whilst the hoardes descend on the TI on the island.

Our rottnest Island ferry and bike trip paid for via Viator was cancelled by Captain Cook cruises due to bad weather on 2 Oct. However, Viator haven't refunded the money yet. Captain Cook said they contacted Viator but nothing has happened. So beware of a cancellation as they will rip you off! So angry!

Great day out to see some quokkas on Rottness Island. Great pizzas on the island at "Frankies on Rotto".
