A peaceful beautiful geothermal experience with lots of variety and the added touch of the stunning cave and the bush walks with information signs of all the plants. For best experience then early on a sunny day shows the wonderful colours of the different minerals and a lovely quiet environment. We even got lucky to see sapphire geyser eruption and well as some smaller active water eruptions. Recommend to everyone who comes to the area. Care with young children as must stick to walkways as the walkways cross the geothermal areas allowing you to get great views but dangerous to step off paths.

An exceptional site that has nothing to envy in Waitapu. The colors are beautiful, the vegetation is abundant and explained, there are few people so, you have the site to yourself. And, most importantly, at the reception a lovely young Breton

Lovely and very helpful staff on arrival. We relaxed in the cafe on arrival watching the boat take people back and forth. Extremely well organised. The experience itself was wonderful. Very warm on the island so water advised. Very well sign posted and easy to follow so that you don't miss anything. Well worth a visit 😊

We visited this area last week and can advise it exceeded my spectators. It is well run and organised from arrival to departure. You can walk at your own pace. The area is stunning with its volcanic activity. Staff were all super helpful. Would recommend as a must visit if in area.

We really enjoyed this self guided tour! The signs about the geothermal activity as well as the flora were informative and interesting. The walk was pleasant even in a light mist. We especially enjoyed the peace and quiet, without the crowds at so many places.

Absolutely loved this, we arrived very early (8:30) because we had a long onward journey. We had the whole place to ourselves! People started arriving as we returned on the ferry! The ferry was cute, a unique way of getting over the lake. The actual attraction was excellent, lots of steps, no good for the infirm or elderly.

Was very nice! The ferry ride over was quick and easy (and readily available with minimal wait time). Went earlier in the day, was minimal crowds, got up really explore the park in a much more secluded and peaceful environment where we weren’t rushed or bombarded by large crowds of people. Took our time exploring the diff views- there are lots of steps/stairs to navigate, which wasn’t a problem for us (but an older couple on the ferry next to us complained that they didn’t know and that the stairs should be better advertised)

An incredible experience. Such a beauty place and so humbling to see the earth at work! Everything was so well set up and the well laid out paths that had been built blended beautifully and didn’t detract from the main event
