Korea's most popular ghost tour! One of the top things to do in Seoul. This is the side of Seoul that you won’t find in the tourism brochures. Take a tour down the dark alleys of Seoul's forgotten 600-year history of bloody massacres, seedy hideaways and mourning ghosts. Self-proclaimed clairvoyants on the tour have reported a few sightings, including a little girl who has been seen following the group around. This is not only a ghost tour, but a walk unearthing Seoul's murky and violent past, making the city much more interesting and intimate. Guests also receive an online map of all the haunts, murder sites, and torture chambers mentioned on the tour.

IMPORTANT: Content is rated PG-13. There are some stories of sex & violence. Parents and those with sensitive ears take caution.

The walk with Shawn was great. He kindly ran it with just me so it was like a conversation with someone extremely knowledgeable about Seoul ghosts and folk traditions. It was fascinating and a little frightening. Highly recommended for a different view of Seoul.

We had a brilliant time with Shawn on the Dark Side of Seoul! Not only was he incredibly well informed about the area and the local folklore but his stories were funny and engaging! The tour was well paced and we were able to ask plenty of questions. Shawn even shared a few extra tales of home which made the whole tour feel genuine. Would 100% recommend for a taste of something different and unique in Seoul :)

This was a fascinating tour and the guide, Shawn, is extremely knowledgeable. He introduced us to several places we didn't know about even though we lived in Seoul for 7 years. He was also eager to learn about the supernatural and folkloric experiences of the guests and answer any questions we had. I highly recommend this tour whether you are just visiting Seoul or are a Seoulite yourself. I also recommend getting Shawn's book and comics, as well as listening to his podcast: The Dark Side of Seoul.

Not only great for some spooky stories, but nice to walk around some popular areas of Seoul and learn a bit about Korean culture as well. The guide, Shawn, was super friendly and knowledgeable, and was happy to answer questions along the way. I did the extended experience and had a great time. Shawn also helped me to find my way back to the Metro station before sending me off. I would recommend this tour if you have a free evening on your trip in Seoul :)

Shawn was an excellent guide. His knowledge and passion for Korean folklore is evident throughout the tour. My partner and I had a blast and Shawn was able to expertly answer all of our questions. He recommended some things to do, places to eat and was just genuinely a cool guy that was fun to hang out with. Highly recommend this tour and Shawn. Thanks again Shawn, keep it up!

Joe was an amazing guide! We absolutely loved the tour! Do expect quite a bit of walking, but the history and stories are well worth the calories :) Definitely one for dark tourists, as well as anyone who wants to learn about the lesser known history of Seoul.

A one of a kind experience! Horrifying ( I mean literal way). 😊 Got a glimpse of old Korea. Even in this modern age, folklore and ghost stories will always be part of us, whether you believe in it or not.
