Korea's most popular ghost tour! One of the top things to do in Seoul. This is the side of Seoul that you won’t find in the tourism brochures. Take a tour down the dark alleys of Seoul's forgotten 600-year history of bloody massacres, seedy hideaways and mourning ghosts. Self-proclaimed clairvoyants on the tour have reported a few sightings, including a little girl who has been seen following the group around. This is not only a ghost tour, but a walk unearthing Seoul's murky and violent past, making the city much more interesting and intimate. Guests also receive an online map of all the haunts, murder sites, and torture chambers mentioned on the tour.

IMPORTANT: Content is rated PG-13. There are some stories of sex & violence. Parents and those with sensitive ears take caution.

Joe was an amazing guide! We absolutely loved the tour! Do expect quite a bit of walking, but the history and stories are well worth the calories :) Definitely one for dark tourists, as well as anyone who wants to learn about the lesser known history of Seoul.

A one of a kind experience! Horrifying ( I mean literal way). 😊 Got a glimpse of old Korea. Even in this modern age, folklore and ghost stories will always be part of us, whether you believe in it or not. It was a cold chilly night, providing the perfect backdrop for Shawn’s narration of dark tales. This was our second time experiencing Shawn’s tour, and the tour was slightly updated so that it still felt fresh. Shawn was engaging and knowledgable as usual, we enjoyed ourselves!

Amazing tour with Shawn! I had the chance of having a private tour, being the only one present for this session, and it was really fantastic. Shawn has a lot of super interesting stories and a great storytelling. I was hooked from beginning till the end. He also had some bonus stories that were awesome and fit really well in the experience, even relating to other tours I told him I had. I booked for the 1.5hr tour but kind of regret not getting the longer one. I'll book other tours from this company without hesitation! So I highly recommend :)

Good experience as always. This is my 4th tour with ZenKimchi (3rd with Shawn). Every tour is a new learning experience, seeing things from a different perspective. Korean horror, folklore, and urban legend movies and dramas just became 10x more interesting and relatable. Shawn is always engaging and keeps the tour scary but light hearted with jokes. I admire his passion and have subscribed to his substack so that i can observe his journey remotely even when I’m not in Korea. I wish there was a tour offered for other haunted places though - abandoned hospitals and houses. But those would most likely be illegal. My question to Shawn is: Did you watch the revenant (악귀) Kdrama?

I would definitely recommend the extended version! There you get all the spooky part. Luckily this evening got also a bit foggy which was wonderfully underlining the stories of Joe. Also the little "protection package against the ghosts" is a sweet idea. The extended part of the tour I really enjoyed to the fullest. Joe is very knowledgeable and tells the story nicely!
If folklore, urban legends and a nice walk are your jam...

Shawn was our guide. He was an excellent story teller who was able to engage our group. He blended folklore and urban legends well and keep us all interested to the end. The walk was well-paced and Shawn was attentive to those amongst who needed more time with the hilly terrain which was much appreciated. It was also very nice of him to follow up with an email with details of what we saw along the way.

The tour was great, Shawn was a cool guide and the stories were good. Take a walk on the spooky side and discover the tales hidden behind the streets. Shawn is a folklore passionate and makes it really easy to scratch what’s under the surface. I would definitely recommend doing the tour while you’re in Seoul.
