Meet your local guide near the Xintiandi area at 9am, and start with the taste of the fresh fried pot stickers in the alleyway surrounded by city high rises. Discover Shanghai's breakfast culture by walking through the backyards of traditional stone-gate houses (Shikumeng) which soon will be demolished due to on going urban renewal projects.
Former French Concession
You will sample the thin noodles with various topping such as pickled vegetable, shredded pork braised in soy sauce, sweet potatoes with bean curd sauce. Sip a cup of the tea at the traditional tea shop in the local neighborhood.

5.00The tour is an intimate look into a few traditional Shanghai neighborhoods, a visit to a small history museum, and a taste of some delicious, long-established staples of the area. My tour guide Yu was sweet, helpful, and knowledgeable. I definitely recommend adding this experience to your journey!

5.00Jade took me around this morning telling me various bits of information about all things food, French Concession, Shanghai, China and more! It was nice to try some Shsnghainese foods as they are different to what I’d already eaten. Jade’s English was fantastic and it was a lovely morning spent wandering the streets of Shanghai! Thank you Jade and I’m sorry I completely forgot to give you your tip! You deserved it!

5.00This was one of the most delicious, filling and interesting food tours I’ve ever taken (and I’ve taken them in 20+ cities). Jim was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable not only about all the food we tasted but also about Shanghai’s history as well. I definitely recommend this tour!
