If you’re looking for a great and informative trip outside of Shanghai that explores the rich history of China, look no further than this one day tour from Bingo tours in Shanghai. With excellent prior to the tour, we were given clear instructions on where to meet, which was our lobby of our hotel in Shanghai, and our guide Summer met us there exactly on time. She was fantastic and gave us clear communication and a seamless experience. We traveled by a six seater vehicle to the Shanghai railway station, where we caught the bullet train bound for Linhai and the historic town. Traveling it over 300 km per hour, we covered the 433 km in just over two hours. From there a short 30 minute taxi ride took us through to a beautiful lake, with historic pagodas and pavilions. Very historic and beautiful. This was the start of our southern Great Wall of China walk. The wall is a circular fortification around the old city, and we walked half of it, seeing guard towers and an amazing view of the city from the highest point. Continuing on, we entered the old town and had a fabulous lunch of delicious authentic Chinese cuisine. Summer then guided us through the town and the historic streets, which gave us opportunities to pick up some souvenirs. We were offered the opportunity to dress in authentic period clothing as part of the tour however we chose not to, but it sounded like a fantastic opportunity. The tour is very flexible, and as we were feeling quite tired, we arranged to bring our return train journey forward by one hour which Summer was able to arrange and we made our way back to the railway station by taxi. The return journey train takes a little longer, a three hour journey this time as it is not a bullet train back to Shanghai. Once we arrived back Summer arranged, a luxury transfer back to our hotel. We would like to say how much we enjoyed the day, and Summer is an excellent guide. Thank you to Bingo Tours and Summer for a fantastic time.

From the start things felt good. Summer was our guide and she was truly amazing all day. We were taken to the train station in a luxury car and arrived at the station with plenty of time. It was my 1st experience on a bullet train and hardly felt we were moving let alone at +350KPH. Walk about the traditional house was really informative thanks to our guide. After this we headed to the wall. Yes the pictures on advert with those steep steps are real! However we saw a side option that would be helpful for those who would struggle. We walked a nice distance, took plenty of photos and even enjoyed a nice (and well earned ice cream after those steps). After we headed to lunch. It was very busy so we had the opportunity to look a choice of restaurants that weren’t quite so busy. Our guide then took us to a performance (also brilliant) and gave us the opportunity to dress up in traditional clothing for the time. This can be interactive and doesn’t matter if you don’t speak the local language. Summer translated for us and I did my best to repeat my part…though I am sure it was quite bad. Overall a great day.

The driver had never shown up to pick me up from the hotel. Ruined my entire day, don’t waste your time with these guys.
