Make the most of your time in Shannon Town!
The walking trail starts at Starbucks outside Shannon Airport. The trail is 4km and takes 1 - 2 hours, finishing at Hastings Cottage, the oldest building in Shannon. A taxi will be arranged to transport guests back to their car or accommodation.
Your guide, Balor, who has spent his whole life living in Clare, collecting the stories and history of this unique, rich part of the world. This is your experience. Balor wants to hear what interests you to make it as immersive and engaging as possible for each individual guest.

Come on a walking tour of the Shannon Estuary to learn about the history of Shannon Airport, the people and the local folklore that has influenced people all over the world. See a part of Shannon that gets missed by most visitors and hear fantastic, grim tales of Limerick with stunnning views of the estuary. Your storyteller, Balor, has spent his whole life living in Clare, collecting the stories and history of the people before they are gone forever. Join him in discovering a side of Ireland that you will never have seen before. The walking trail starts at Starbucks near Shannon Airport and finishes at Hastings Farmhouse, the oldest building in Shannon. A taxi will be arranged to transport guests back to their car / accommodation.

We organise a taxi to transport you back to the meeting point. Cost is €8 per vehicle.
Meeting at Starbucks with the option to pick up a snack or beverage for the walk. Items purchased in Starbucks are not covered by the price of the tour.

5.00Balor is amazing! If you want an immersive, fun filled, knowledgeable and personal tour guide then look no further. I've never been as fascinated by a field let alone the marvels and historical sites along the tour. Balors wit and storytelling brings you back in time and involves you in the tale rather that being a passenger. 100% can not recommend this guy highly enough. You'd be crazy not to go!
