I spent ~30 days in China and had a whole variety of guides for different legs of the trip. For my very last day on the mainland, I booked this tech tour in Shenzhen and found Riley to be amongst the best (if not the very best) of the many guides I had in terms of English fluency and knowledge. I did the longest 6 hour tour and I paid AUD$355.70 via TripAdvisor for a private tour, however Riley does offer shorter tours if you are not interested in the entire itinerary and is flexible and willing to customise the tour. I was also able to book the tour less than 18 hours before I met up with her. As with most city tours, if you really do your own research, it is possible to do the tour without a guide, but having Riley around really smooths things out in many ways (asking questions to store staff, route finding and planning around events and basically not having to do you own in-depth research if you simply don't have the time. All in all, I think the 6hr tour is 100% worth it and would recommend it to my friends.

Frank was great, attentive, took me around to see various tech, was friendly and answered all the questions I had. He also helped me take good videos and pics! I really enjoyed riding in the driverless car!!

We enjoyed this tour with Echo very much! She is very experienced and she shared a lot of information with us. We enjoyed the experiences of drone delivery, driverless taxi ride and visiting a tech store a lot. Thank you Echo!

An interesting take on some aspects of high tech in Shenzhen in 2026. Hands on with retail items in the showrooms of manufacturers. I am a techie but still learned a lot.

Well worth it. We saw a lot of interesting things in a short period of time. The highlights were the drone delivery and robotaxi. Riley was great and explained how things work. She helps us with our first time using the metro using Alipay.

Fred was an exelent host, he was able to speak English very well, though he got lost with some of our Australian slang. The exoskeleton was a winner for me I think I could climb Mt Everest with an extended battery life. The robot icecream booth did not understand Australian though it was fun confusing the robot. I have never had a back massage in my car before now I want an xiome car. Only $40,000 Australian. The more I see of China the more I see we are being ripped off blindly in Australia. Thanks for the insight into how far we are behind in Australia 🇦🇺 All in all the tour was Tai bang le.

We had a fantastic time on the tech tour in Shenzhen! It was not only incredibly interesting but also so much fun, making it the perfect blend of education and entertainment. The highlight was definitely our tour guide Star. He was absolutely wonderful with my children—so kind, patient, and friendly throughout the entire visit. Our children were captivated and enjoyed every single moment. We left feeling very happy and satisfied with the whole experience. Highly recommended for families!
