1.00I booked and received full confirmation for a private hotel pick-up tour covering three cities, including the Gold Museum through Viator. I had written confirmation. The itinerary was clear. The experience was specific. That is what I paid for. Less than 24 hours before departure, my actual ticket arrived — and it was for a completely different product. Instead of: • Private driver • Hotel pickup • Three specific cities • Gold Museum included I was issued a voucher for: • A large group bus tour • Departure from the main train station • A different itinerary • No Gold Museum • One city removed and replaced with a geopark I never selected There was no notification. No explanation. No approval request. I was simply switched. At that point, with less than 24 hours’ notice and a family schedule built around the original booking, I had no realistic option. I either forfeited the experience entirely or showed up for a tour I did not purchase. The bus tour guide was professional and spoke English well. That is not the issue. The issue is that I did not receive what I paid for. When I contacted Viator, I was passed between multiple operators. Four companies were involved in this booking chain. Not one took ownership. Not one corrected it. Not one issued a proper resolution. Now, to make matters worse, Viator is asking me to review the original private tour — the one I never went on because they substituted it at the last minute. This is not a minor mix-up. This is a bait-and-switch. If a confirmed booking can be unilaterally replaced less than 24 hours before departure, then confirmation means nothing. I expect accountability and a refund for the difference in product delivered.

4.00The tour would have been great but on that day, it would have been better if we had the ability to cancel less than 24hours as it was raining the whole time since we only knew it would rain several hours before the tour. We were going up and down so many stairs in the rain hanging to our umbrellas and holding to the rails if present and we were just so lucky, we didn’t slip and fall.
