Please note depending on your start time, and travel date(Forbidden City and Temple of heaven is not open on Monday) these two days itinerary might switch. Once the cruise ship docks in Tianjin International Cruise Port, your private guide will welcome you, assist you with your bags, then begin the 3.5 hour journey to the Great Wall at Mutianyu Section.
Mutianyu Great Wall
As you travel, your guide will keep you entertained with fun facts and trivia about the city and its countless sights. As you pass by the local village near the Wall, you will stop at a local restaurant for lunch. Then, set off on a 30 minute journey along the scenic mountains and villages.Your guide will explain the stories and histories of the the Great Wall. Upon arrival, ride in a cable car/ski lift up to the Wall, then follow your tour guide to hike up and down to explore different beacon and watch tower. Since this is a private tour, you can decide how far you want go and when you want to leave. You will descend either by cable car or ski lift, you also can take the fun toboggan down.
Summer Palace (Yiheyuan)
Then, heading to the beautiful imperial palace--the Summer Palace.The Summer Palace is the best-kept existing royal garden in Beijing. With a concentration of the best of ancient buildings as well as styles of gardening, it is a virtual museum of traditional Chinese gardening.
Bird's Nest National Stadium
Photos stop at National Stadium and Water Cube. After that, your will transferred back to your hotel in Beijing. (Please book your own hotel in advance)

Temple of Heaven
Check out of your hotel in the morning, your tour will start from the Temple of heaven. The magnificent and colorful Temple of Heaven was where emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties would make offerings to heaven and pray for full harvests. Stroll around different courtyards and halls, gain deep insight into the worship ceremony which hold here during the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
Tiananmen Square (Tiananmen Guangchang)
Next, you will explore the Tian'anmen square and Forbidden City area. Listen to the stories about the surrounding buildings and monuments as walking, heading north pass by the Tian'anmen Gate, move on to the Forbidden city.
Forbidden City-The Palace Museum
Built in 1949, Tian'anmen square is a modern creation in a city that did not have places where crowds could gather. Beyond it, lays the Imperial Palace ,also known as the Forbidden city. Over one million treasures were displayed here.
Hall of Great Harmony (Taihe Dian)
Follow your tour guide to explore most important buildings inside the Forbidden city, such as : The Hall of Great Harmony, Hall of Central Harmony and Hall of Preserving Harmony.
Palace of Heavenly Purity
Then heading to the inner court to visit the Hall of Heavenly Purity, Hall of Union and Hall of Earthly Tranquility. Learn the life stories about the Emperor, empress and concubines. You always welcomed to ask questions during the tour.
The Imperial Garden of The Palace Museum
Pass by Imperial Garden, then you will exit the Forbidden City from the North Gate. Afterwards, you will stop at a local restaurant for a traditional lunch.
Tianjin International Cruise Port
Your shore excursion then concludes back at Tianjin International port in time for your cruise departure.The journey back will take approximately 3.5 hours.

5.00Lucy was a terrific guide. She explained everything very well. Very knowledgeable about the places we went to see. There are a lot of government check points along the way and especially in Beijing at the sites. , Because we had a private guide, getting through these check points was a breeze. She even helped push my wife in a walker and assisted her to climb stairs. If there was a way to rate Lucy a 5 +, I would certainly do so. Our driver and Lucy communicated very well to make sure he was at the right place for drop off and pick up. Thanks Lucy for making our two day Shore Excursion in Beijing a very memorable experience. 5.00Li Jimmy and his driver were efficient, amiable, and made sure we got to see everything., Jimmy arranged it so that despite some mobility issues, we could go to the wall, see the ForbiddenCity, and all the other highlights. He was knowledgeable, and made our trip truly unforgettable. He and his driver were wonderful, and we were thankful we were lucky to have them!

5.00We were picked on schedule by Jimmy our guide, and were taken straight to the Great Wall. Jimmy organised all the tickets and gave us running commentry all the way. He was able to answer all of our questions (and there were plenty) about our visit. Day 1 was long due to the fact that everyone went to the Great Wall as the attractions in Beijing were closed. Lunch was at a local restaurant where Jimmy & our driver joined us. It was an excellent arrangement as we were able to chat and ask more questions. We visited other places of interest before we were dropped off at our hotel (The New Otani) for our overnight stay. Day 2 we thought day 1 was long, but it was not as packed as day 2. Jimmy and the driver had planned the route well and took us to places that were not on the schedule of the cryise line. This meant that it was not overcrowded with the normal throng od cruise tours. The places were both interesting and beautiful. We visited Tianaman Square and saw the thousands queueing to see Chairman Mao's body. We visited the forbidden city and learnt a lot about Chimese dynasties. WE also visited the Temple of Heaven and a number of other temples some dedicated to Buddah and others to Confucius. That took us until about 14:00 when we stopped for lunch at another local restaurant away from the tourists. After lunch we had the 2.5 hour drive back to the ship. The only downside to the whole trip was the Chinese security at the port. The confiscated my wife's hairspray and my body spray, supposidly because it was dangerous. All in all, Jimmy and the driver gave us an excellent guided tour of Beijing and the Great Wall and I would thoroughly reccomend it to everyone. Well done Unique Beijing Tours and especially Jimmy and our driver.
Excellent Two Day Private Tour from Tianjin Cruise Port

5.00Our tour guide Jimmy and driver Kai were waiting for us on time when we arrived at the port. Jimmy was holding a sign with our names on it for us to see as we exited the customs area. The car was very clean and comfortable. From the port we drove close to 3 hours to the Mutianyu section of the amazing Great Wall and toured it for about an hour. Afterwards we stopped for a wonderful Chinese lunch. Jimmy asked us what we preferred or if there was anything we didn't eat and then called ahead to the restaurant. The lunch was very good. After lunch we toured the beautiful Summer Palace grounds and then were dropped off to the hotel we booked in advance on our own in downtown Beijing. On our second day Jimmy was waiting for us in the lobby on time at 7:30am. We toured Tiananmen square first and then the incredible Forbidden City and The Temple of Heaven. We stopped for another tasty Chinese lunch before heading back on the 2 hour drive to the port. Our driver Kai got us back in plenty of time for the all aboard time and was a very good, courteous driver. Our tour guide Jimmy was wonderful. He spoke good English and was very friendly & knowledgeable. We were very pleased that we booked this tour. The cruise ship was offering a tour almost identical but it wasn't private and didn't include the Summer Palace. We were also able to save several hundred dollars by doing it on our own and picking/paying for our own 4 star hotel. We highly recommend using this service and ask for Jimmy as your tour guide. You won't be disappointed.

5.00The service and trip was one of best experience we had. The translator was very knowledgebal and gave amazing attentive tour. Driver was excellent also. The lunch they provided during the two day trip was also memorable. I would recommend this translator and driver to anyone who needs great time and receive tremendous knowledge about the country
