Discover Valdes Peninsula on a tour from Puerto Madryn. This Natural Heritage Site is known for its variety of unique animal species, providing an unrivalled environment.
The first stop is at the Carlos Ameghino Isthmus Interpretation Center, where we will visit its different rooms with infographics on geology, fauna and local flora. From the panoramic viewpoint, you will have views of the New Gulf, San Jose and Bird Island.
The next point on the itinerary is a stop in the town of Puerto Pirámides, where, depending on the season, you can take an optional whale watching excursion (at additional charge).
Continuing to Caleta Valdes and Punta Cantor, you will see elephant seals, penguins and sea lions (depending on time of year).
Enjoying the path you can find guanacos, maras, choiques and other endemic animals.
We return at sunset, coordinating schedules for cruise passengers.

We will visit the Carlos Ameghino Interpretation Center, gateway to the Valdes Peninsula where we will get information about the local fauna and flora by visiting its thematic rooms. We will have the possibility to visualize the New and San Jose Gulfs from the viewpoint tower.
Caleta Valdes
Transiting the vastness of the ripio roads of the Peninsula and identifying in its path different animals that inhabit it as guanacos, maras, choiques and other species of birds, we will arrive to the east end to visit the Caleta Valdés. We will have the possibility to travel its trails and observe southern elephant seals, sea lions and chances to see orcas, imposing marine mammal chooses these corners of the continent to perform a unique hunting technique in the world: intentional stranding, and thus manage to feed on these pinnipeds.

5.00Great guide, lots to see. Yes, the tour is long and partially on dirt roads. There is more driving than looking, but the time you will spend will be worth the drive. Our guide had great English, and our driver stopped to show us everything he saw. We spoke to people that did the ship offered tour (which takes you to same places) and they didn’t have as good of a time (in fact everyone complained to the ship about their experience). It’s a great chance!!

5.00Our cruise made a last minute port change due to weather and we ended up in Puerto Madryn over night. I began communicating with the travel company via what’s app we arranged a last minute tour they adjusted our times to accommodate everything! They even notified us we were getting in earlier so if we could get off the ship sooner because we had a lot to do.
