You'll arrive at Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Once there, you'll take a short journey through the volcanic, moss-laden fields of the park. Here, you will listen as your friendly and experienced PADI Divemaster guide.
Later, you'll receive all of the necessary equipment for snorkeling in Silfra, including neoprene hoods and gloves, a thermal drysuit, snorkel and fins. The equipment will keep you buoyant throughout your time in the fissure, as well as offering a protection against the water.
Once in the water, your eyes will meet the incredible shades of blue so prevalent in the fissure, as well as the natural under-water flora canyon walls. As you are swimming you will have the opportunity to swim across continents, as you will be switching back and forth from the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. After the tour GoPRO pictures will be sent to you by email for free.

Have read, signed, and followed directions on the Snorkeling Silfra Medical Statement Form –https://troll.is/medical). You can sign the form at the meeting location.
Be comfortable in water and be able to swim.
Communicate in English at the time of the tour.
Be physically fit.
You must be prepared to wear a dry suit (tight at the neck) to protect against cold water; please note that slight water leakage around the neck and sleeves area may happen, and that is considered normal.
You must be a minimum of 135 cm and a maximum of 200 cm in height and weigh between 30 and 140 kilos along with being physically fit.
You must be a maximum of 69 years of age to participate in this tour. If you are over 60 years of age, you need a medical waiver, available on page 2 of the Medical Statement.
You must be a minimum of 12 years of age to participate in this tour. Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian booked on the same tour.
If you are over 45 and partake/have partaken in pipe smoking or heavy alcohol intake, you need a medical waiver.
Please note that should you have any neurological, circulatory or respiratory problems or underlying diseases, battled any illnesses or have any physical problems you might have to turn in a physicians allowance to participate in this tour.
This is a self drive tour, you need your own car to arrive to the meeting point, please note there are no public buses to reach the location.
Standard snorkel masks don’t fit over glasses. We recommend bringing contact lenses for the best experience.
Silfra gets very busy in summer. That's why we recommend booking our earliest morning or late afternoon tours.

5.00Great unique experience even if you snorkel or dive; afterall it's between 2 "continents"! The team was terrific, kind, very professional and fun. Gear was all in great, clean shape. We were not cold at all. Martin our group's guide was wonderful and took great photos, a definite plus as we would not have been able to do this. We were partnered with 2 other ladies so only a group of 4, we lucked out! You snorkel as you arrive, there was no wait to assemble more people for a group. AND there's chocolate waiting at the end, will snorkel for chocolate! Enjoy! Thank you to our guides!

5.00My husband and I had such a fabulous time. We were worried we’d be cold and get wet but with the equipment provided we stayed nice and warm. The only area that gets wet is your hands and lips but you get used to it quickly. Our guide was Lilian and he was absolutely fantastic. He explained everything really well and was so friendly. The tour was Very organised and on time. Would highly recommend.

5.00We arrived and were promptly dressed into the correct gear. Under the dry suit we wore 1 base layer (leggings and long sleeved top) and we didn’t get wet at all. We were super lucky with the weather but we packed extra in a backpack just in case. The guides were great and really informative. It was our first time and we felt safe and secure. All great. Would definitely do it again and recommend to everyone.

5.00I’ve waited a long time to visit Iceland, and to walk between 2 tectonic plates has been a bucket list item for many years. But as a water sports enthusiast, to snorkel between 2 tectonic plates blew my mind. The water is beyond clear and you simply have to experience the contrast between above the surface and below it to believe it. Session was super slick, kit all in great condition and really friendly vibe. As the kit issuing was done so well the cold is not an issue. Massive shout out to Anna our guide for including my wife and kids in the pictures at the start even though they weren’t participating, and for expertly answering my many questions throughout. But most impressive was her ability to spot different experience levels within group and tailor the experience to everyone’s confidence levels, no small feat and made it absolutely epic for everyone. Huge thanks. Simply put, this trip is a must.

5.00Joaquin was an amazing instructor! Although this experience was amazing and a once in a lifetime opportunity, it was a little difficult for me and my husband but our instructor made us feel safe and gave us the reassurance and help we needed! I would definitely recommend this experience!
