You'll arrive at Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Once there, you'll take a short journey through the volcanic, moss-laden fields of the park. Here, you will listen as your friendly and experienced PADI Divemaster guide.
Later, you'll receive all of the necessary equipment for snorkeling in Silfra, including neoprene hoods and gloves, a thermal drysuit, snorkel and fins. The equipment will keep you buoyant throughout your time in the fissure, as well as offering a protection against the water.
Once in the water, your eyes will meet the incredible shades of blue so prevalent in the fissure, as well as the natural under-water flora canyon walls. As you are swimming you will have the opportunity to swim across continents, as you will be switching back and forth from the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. After the tour GoPRO pictures will be sent to you by email for free.

Have read, signed, and followed directions on the Snorkeling Silfra Medical Statement Form –https://troll.is/medical). You can sign the form at the meeting location.
Be comfortable in water and be able to swim.
Communicate in English at the time of the tour.
Be physically fit.
You must be prepared to wear a dry suit (tight at the neck) to protect against cold water; please note that slight water leakage around the neck and sleeves area may happen, and that is considered normal.
You must be a minimum of 135 cm and a maximum of 200 cm in height and weigh between 30 and 140 kilos along with being physically fit.
You must be a maximum of 69 years of age to participate in this tour. If you are over 60 years of age, you need a medical waiver, available on page 2 of the Medical Statement.
You must be a minimum of 12 years of age to participate in this tour. Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian booked on the same tour.
If you are over 45 and partake/have partaken in pipe smoking or heavy alcohol intake, you need a medical waiver.
Please note that should you have any neurological, circulatory or respiratory problems or underlying diseases, battled any illnesses or have any physical problems you might have to turn in a physicians allowance to participate in this tour.
This is a self drive tour, you need your own car to arrive to the meeting point, please note there are no public buses to reach the location.
Standard snorkel masks don’t fit over glasses. We recommend bringing contact lenses for the best experience.
Silfra gets very busy in summer. That's why we recommend booking our earliest morning or late afternoon tours.

5.00We absolutely loved this tour. Our driver, Ella, was so kind and informative—it made the Golden Circle portion even more enjoyable. The snorkeling team was just as incredible. My husband and I were a little nervous about fitting into the dry suits, but the team made it so easy. They were extremely helpful getting us suited up, and we had zero issues. Martin guided our snorkeling experience and was fantastic—funny, patient, and never made us feel rushed. He even took tons of photos for us, which we really appreciated. Truly great customer service all around. Highly recommend!

5.00Our silfra snorkeling experience and guide (Belu) was incredible. Belu was extemely friendly, patient and knowledgable. We had 3 teenagers with us and she made it such an amazing experience for all of us. The water was so clear and we were able to drink it, which was so refreshing. The dry suits kept us dry as a bone. This was by far one of the best things we did on our trip to beuatiful Iceland.

5.00It was absolutely amazing. Anna was our guide and she rocked!! I am a sissy when it comes to the cold, but it’s not what you think. I was not uncomfortable at all and we went April 2 and it was snowing!! Do it, you will not regret it.

3.00Overall it was okay but the snorkel I was given was faulty and had a leak so I spent the first half of the time in the water struggling to breathe and had to purge every breath. when I was finally to reach our guide and switch out my snorkel, it wasn’t much better.. it also didn’t help that the mouth piece was on the small side. I know it definitely wasn’t me or my breathing because I have my PADI license and I scuba dive. I just wished the equipment was a little better so I would have had more fun.

5.00What an amazing experience. The snorkeling was very exciting, but our guide, Jao, was even better. He was informative, fun, and just a pleasure to be around. There was a legit blizzard about to blow in, but he didn’t rush the tour and still took the time to get to know our group and ensure a great time.
