Float between two tectonic plates, between the continents, in the clearest water in the world (100m+ visibility) while admiring the mesmerizing colors of this underwater world.
You don’t need to be a certified diver in order to experience water at its clearest! Snorkeling at Silfra is suitable for anyone who feels comfortable in water and knows how to swim. This family-friendly activity is suitable for children from 12 years old.
The snorkeling tour of Silfra is done in a dry suit, helping you to stay warm and dry inside the suit while swimming in the cold, crystal clear water.
Silfra is located in Thingvellir National Park which is a Unesco heritage site. The beautiful park is one of the wonders on the famous Golden circle route.

All participants will need to fill out a medical form before participating in the tour. Please contact local operator in order to request the form via email.
All participant's height, weight and age information must be provided to local operator to ensure they bring the best fitting drysuit. The tour operator will contact you after booking to ask for this information.
Participants must be at least 12 years of age
Dry suits are worn over your own clothing. We recommend wearing long thermal underwear and thick wool socks as a base layer under the dry suit
Minimum height is 4ft 11in (150cm). Minimum weight is 100lbs (45kg).
Maximum height and weight is 6ft7in (200cm) and 264lbs (120kg).
Participants must be comfortable in water and able to swim, physically fit and healthy
Please note that that dry suits can sometimes feel quite tight and constricting
All participants must be able to communicate in English
Not suitable for pregnant women
IMPORTANT - Participants who are 60 years of age and older must have their doctor sign the approval form in order to participate
Pickup starts 30 minutes before scheduled departure, please be ready and visible at your designated pickup location

We will pick you up in Reykjavík and drive you to Thingvellir National Park. During the one-hour drive, your guide will provide you with information about the unique geology and cultural history of Iceland and Silfra as well as the surrounding area of the UNESCO world heritage site. Once your group of max 6 people has been formed, your guide will give you your drysuit, warm undersuit and snorkeling equipment. Your guide will explain how to use this equipment and how to ensure that you will be warm during your tour. You can change in our heated Changing Van and the guide will help you with putting all the gear on. We recommend wearing long underwear and thick socks. The briefing and gearing up takes approx 1 hour. You will walk 5 minutes to Silfra and start your 30 - 45 minute snorkeling tour of Silfra Hall, Silfra Cathedral, and Silfra Lagoon. After snorkeling in the cold water, we warm you up with hot cocoa and cookies. This is your chance to chat with your guide.

5.00Doing this in the winter was another level of adventure. They supply the warm onesie, the dry suit and all the rest of the gear. Come dressed in your good thermals and bring a few pairs of warm socks. Getting the gear on can be uncomfortable but the reward is absolutely amazing. An unforgettable experience!

5.00The whole thing might sound scary but it's a really once in a lifetime experience. The drysuits really do keep the water and cold out plus you'll really float along so there's no danger there. And the views of the Silfra fissure are just spectacular. Also have to call out our guide Diogo who was fantastic throughout the day and made the experience all the more better.

5.00This was an amazing trip right from pick up. The views and the sunrise as we drove from Reykjavik to Silfra were incredible. When we arrived everything was explained clearly and was well organised. It’s a bit tricky getting into the suits inside the van when everyone is in together but worth it for the experience. I had some issues with my mask but the guide was helpful and tried to sort it for me. Top tip is to wear good socks and thermals as this will keep you warm under the dry suit. It is truly beautiful and clear under the water and definitely worth seeing. Wish we had more time to look in the area around the lake as well but that would be my only slight issue.
Would do it again in a heartbeat!

5.00Amazing experience! No where near as cold as I was expecting! Visibility was great. All the guides were super fun! Had fun with us, each other and other groups. Would love to do the deeper dive next time!

5.00This was such a cool experience!! It was freezing the day I went, but I warmed up pretty quickly with the hot chocolate they provided after. I got the tour with the add on of the photos but I saw that you could pay to get them after the tour if you didn’t book the photos originally. I definitely recommend bringing an extra pair of warm socks & warm thermals to wear under the dry suit!

5.00This was an awesome experience! Pick up at my bus stop and travel to Silfra we smooth and relaxing. The guides were really friendly and knowledgeable. It was my first time in a dry suit and they walked you through all the steps and helped. They were also really clear with instructions and how the snorkeling experience would go. There was plenty of time allotted and it didn't feel like you were being rushed through. I believe my guide was CG on 12/3
