On arrival at Kuala Selangor, visit 'Kota Melawati' formerly known as 'Fort Altingsburg', the execution block, royal mausoleum and colonial buildings.
Silver-Leafed Monkeys and long-tailed macaques are the main draw to the Melawati Hill. The significant difference between the silver-leafed babies as compared to the adults is that these babies have golden fur while the adults have dull grey colours. These monkeys are a delight; they are gentle and playful.

Silver-Leafed Monkeys - and long-tailed macaques are the main draw to the Melawati Hill. The significant difference between the silver-leafed babies as compared to the adults is that these babies have golden fur while the adults have dull grey colours. These monkeys are a delight; they are gentle and playful. The long-tailed macaques, on the other hand, are generally a little more mischievous and if you turn your back for a second - you'd never know what they might do. A gentle reminder to exercise precautions with these lovely and wild animals, which can be quite erratic at times despite having so much human interaction.

5.00I am experienced traveler, traveling all over the world. This experience was awesome. Our driver VJ was the BEST! You MUST ask for him. I could of stayed at the Monkeys forever. VJ bought some food and gave it to us to feed the monkeys. It was such an awesome experience. The Fireflys were just okay. I grew up with them...but there were millions of them. It was cool. But VJ made the monkey experience a BLAST!

5.00Had an amazing experience thanks to VJ! The silver leaf monkeys were so adorable and one kissed me on the cheek. These were wild monkeys so truly a once in a lifetime experience! Dinner was delicious and fireflies were also unforgettable! Highly recommended!

5.00Guide picked us up at hotel on time, drove to several sites for quick stops on the way (palace, natural hot springs, pick up peanuts for the monkeys), then we walked to where hundreds of monkeys were waiting for food. He encouraged me to offer peanuts from my hand, which I hesitantly did, and they were adorable to watch up close as they used their little fingers to pick up one peanut at a time and eat!Then we drove to a seafood restaurant where he ordered a special meal for each of us, based on our preferences. I am vegan and had a great meal! Then we drove to a boat where we hopped right in and saw the fireflies! No waiting anywhere. He even backtracked to where we had been because I lost my earring and he was hoping we would find it, During the drive, he spoke about the history and government and life in Malaysia, so no time was wasted on this personalized tour.
