Silver-Leafed Monkeys - and long-tailed macaques are the main draw to the Melawati Hill. The significant difference between the silver-leafed babies as compared to the adults is that these babies have golden fur while the adults have dull grey colours. These monkeys are a delight; they are gentle and playful. The long-tailed macaques, on the other hand, are generally a little more mischievous and if you turn your back for a second - you'd never know what they might do. A gentle reminder to exercise precautions with these lovely and wild animals, which can be quite erratic at times despite having so much human interaction.

I am experienced traveler, traveling all over the world. This experience was awesome. Our driver VJ was the BEST! You MUST ask for him. I could of stayed at the Monkeys forever. VJ bought some food and gave it to us to feed the monkeys. It was such an awesome experience. The Fireflys were just okay. I grew up with them...but there were millions of them. It was cool. But VJ made the monkey experience a BLAST!

The silver monkeys were amazing, so soft, gentle and cute. Take food to feed them or buy there. Would love to see them again. Dinner was nice, very fresh. The fish is still live and cooked on site. Fireflies, I got bitten by mosquitoes so not so enjoyable, but saw lots of fireflies.

Had an amazing experience thanks to VJ! The silver leaf monkeys were so adorable and one kissed me on the cheek. These were wild monkeys so truly a once in a lifetime experience! Dinner was delicious and fireflies were also unforgettable! Highly recommended!

Our guide was excellent the monkeys were great so friendly eating out of your hand and so gentle the fireflys, were excellent lovely to see but impossible to take photos as no flash allowed so just enjoy the moment. The dinner was fine no complaints an enjoyable trip

Guide picked us up at hotel on time, drove to several sites for quick stops on the way (palace, natural hot springs, pick up peanuts for the monkeys), then we walked to where hundreds of monkeys were waiting for food. He encouraged me to offer peanuts from my hand, which I hesitantly did, and they were adorable to watch up close as they used their little fingers to pick up one peanut at a time and eat!Then we drove to a seafood restaurant where he ordered a special meal for each of us, based on our preferences. I am vegan and had a great meal! Then we drove to a boat where we hopped right in and saw the fireflies! No waiting anywhere. He even backtracked to where we had been because I lost my earring and he was hoping we would find it, During the drive, he spoke about the history and government and life in Malaysia, so no time was wasted on this personalized tour.

This is a very unique combo adventure/opportunity while staying in KL. Our driver, Allan, picked us up promptly at 16:30 and off we went. The drive was about an hour and a half, with a few stops including the amazing Hindu shrine. We arrived int eh small town where the SilverLeaf Monkeys reside - it was crazy but wonderful experience. They all go wild for the food you can purchase in a burlap bag. The small town in which this attraction can be found is a charming little one. On we went for an excellent seafood dinner along the river. Afterward we drove a short distance to take a boat upriver to see the fire flies. That was a tremendous treat!
