5.00An absolutely amazing experience. I have never been really into that sort of thing, but so glad we made the effort. Originally booked for a 10.30pm tour that was cancelled, so joined a 2.30am. As our amazing guide Sam said, the later you go the better your chances. Saw heaps if shooting stars, the number of stars was insane, saw young stars forming, planets, constellations and so much more. Absolutely worth the effort and money. Loved the experience.

5.00My family enjoyed this tour. It was a fun way to spend Christmas Eve! I booked this tour as there was an earlier option at 10:45pm. Many companies only offered tours at midnight or later so that wasn't feasible with kids. The check in was easy and in a store so a little extra time to buy souvenirs. Warm coats were provided and I'm really glad we grabbed them! Our tour guide Evan was nice and enthusiastic. The tour is not overly down in the weeds, so it's a nice family outing as it was at a level that adults and kids could enjoy. I also booked this specific tour as it's in small groups of 10. There were about six groups checking in at the same time, but we all had our own guide and our own spot with a telescope.

5.00It was cold so bundle up. Wilson was engaging and knowledgeable, and the trip was well organized. Clouds moved through but he was able to work with what was visible, and I learned a lot. Definitely recommend!

5.00This is one of best tour that we had in this trip. The experience is stunning. The sky in this night is so beautiful! The lady that handle our group is wonderful! She is very knowledgeable and give us lots of information about stars. Highly recommend to take it.

5.00Unfortunately our stargazing tour was cancelled due to heavy cloud cover, which is always a risk with this kind of experience. We were given the option of a full refund or heading out anyway to see if the sky might clear. We chose to go out with a smaller group, and the guide was great — explained the area, talked through what we *would* have been able to see, and kept us informed the whole time. When the clouds didn’t lift after 20 minutes, we headed back. We were still given a full refund without any hassle, which says a lot about their customer service. They were honest, flexible, and clearly put the experience ahead of making a sale. Weather can’t be controlled, but how it’s handled matters — and these guys handled it really well. Would happily try again in better conditions.

1.00The activity was cancelled because of very bad weather condition. A refund was promised and also an e-mail to confirm the cancellation. The e-mail they sent was nothing about cancellation but only a list of new offers.

5.00The Silver River stargazing experience was truly magical and one of the most unforgettable things I’ve ever done. From start to finish, everything was exceptional. Our guide, Tara, was absolutely brilliant — warm, knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly so passionate about the night sky. She explained everything in a way that made you feel connected to the universe rather than just observing it. What made the experience especially special was the Māori storytelling woven through the stargazing. Hearing the traditional Māori stories of the stars added such depth, meaning, and beauty to what we were seeing — it felt grounding, spiritual, and incredibly moving. The sky itself was beyond words. Crystal clear, endlessly vast, and genuinely awe-inspiring. Seeing Jupiter and two of its moons through the telescope was a jaw-dropping moment I’ll never forget — one of those experiences that really makes you pause and appreciate how small yet lucky we are. Everything about this experience felt thoughtful, peaceful, and expertly delivered. If you’re even remotely considering doing this — do it. It’s breathtaking, soul-stirring, and worth every second. Thank you Tara and the Silver River team for such a beautiful, memorable night under the stars!!
