Sinharaja Forest Forest is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and biodiversity hotspot, home to a wealth of species found only in Sri Lanka.
You will enjoy 3-3.5 hours trekking session with an experienced trekking guide Increasing your chances of spotting native wildlife such as birds, monkeys, snakes, and chameleons...etc.
There will be a chance to enjoy swim in natural waterfall if weather allows.
Sri Lankan authentic Rice & Curry lunch will be ready for you to taste after the trekking session & then heading back to the hotel.

Sinharaja Forest Reserve
This lowland wetland rain forest is designated a world heritage site by UNESCO.It is one of the most important eco-systems and is known as a gene bank. It has an amazing bio-diversity with new species being discovered .The mecca for the eco tourist, the amazing number of exotic species of fauna and flora is hard to describe. Endemic species of Birds, and Butterflies as well other exotic species are prolific. Wild orchids endemic to this evergreen rain forest cling to the trees, and migrant birds flitter through the foliage and forest canopy. Reptiles slither the forest floors and entwine around the branches. And frogs and other insects hop around the under bush. It is a paradise of Emerald green and a nature lover’s dream world.

2.00There’s isn’t much of landscaping to see, two hours walk in a narrow path through the jungle…it’s nice, but not astonishing, if you’re dying just to see the waterfall, then go, swimming by it is soul cleansing. But I wouldn’t redo it

5.00This really is an excursion for the adventurous and one that you won’t forget. And again Bentota Travel Mart comes out as the best. Exemplary service. Calling out Sam and Lahir our driver. Hats off to you fellows. What a place to see , I say that as I’ve travelled on safaris and this one is there at the top. The ecosystem at its best.

5.00Didn't take as long as we thought to get there (we were driven from RIU in Ahunghalla) and the last part of the drive featured some spectacular rainforest scenery. Met our guide at his home and he walked us to the rainforest. He gave us leech socks and he salted our boots to kill leeches. The walk was really interesting. Saw lizards, moths, monkeys, spiders. Most of my family swam in the waterfall at the halfway point. Afterwards, had a delicious lunch at our guides house with lots of curry dishes.to choose from. Pasidu from Bentota was really helpful throughout the trip and took lots of photos. Another brilliant trip from BTM.

5.00Wonderful discovery of this jungle and almost alone with our guide who explained the plants to us and introduced us to insects, birds and reptiles. Really great!!!

5.00A beautiful climb to reach the magnificent viewpoint accompanied by a guide On the way back, stop for tea (or other) with a tasting of some Sri Lankan specialties Anti-leech protection to put in shoes is provided by the driver and we were able to see monkeys, chameleons, birds and butterflies On the way back we stopped for a coconut. It was a nice day

5.00Bentota Travel Mart are excellent. Customer service is among the best I have encountered in all of my travels around the world. The booking process was smooth, the driver was on time and very affable, the tour was well planned out, and we were all well taken care of from start to finish. We will be using BTM for all of our excursions in Sri Lanka. P.S. younger kids may not like the rain-forest itself due to a few creepy-crawlies (especially during heavy rains that bring them out in force)...but this is nothing that older kids and adults cannot handle for a once in a lifetime experience.
