• Half-day trip to large and red pandas

  The trip worked perfectly. Two days in advance, a message came via WhatsApp with all the information for pickup. The hotel pickup was on time and the about 1h drive was pleasant. During the day you will be accompanied by two different parks. The park with the red pandas is not yet a year old and currently very unknown, there were very few visitors on site. You get very close to the red pandas, but petting or similar is not possible. According to information from our driver you cannot book the excursion yourself, for foreign visitors there is no way around booking the tour. For us, however, this was no problem, as everything was very well organized. Return to the hotel was about 2pm.

  ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Kevin is an excellent guide for the Dujingyan Panda tour and Red Panda interaction. His English is clear and easy to understand. He is very knowledgeable about history and culture. His explanations are interesting and full of passion. He planned a great route and avoided busy areas. He is patient, kind and always helpful. We had a wonderful and unforgettable tour. We learned so much from her during the trip. This was the best experience in Chengdu Wildlife Panda and Red Panda.   Absolutely fabulous experience, driver showed up on time very comfortable car, I was solo and we picked up 2 more, the guide spoke excellent English and was easy talk to, and had knowledge on every question I asked. The pandas were fabulous, we went to the red pandas, which was just amazing the park is well kept the enclosures are very very big full of trees and bamboo it feels like its the jungle, you walk through their area, and can feed them at the end. It was amazing. We also had lunch at a local place that was lovely. I don't like spicy food and they catered for me. I would highly recommend this tour and the guide.

  Playing with these red pandas is really cool, you can even feed them. Additionally, the service provided by the driver and team leader is also excellent

  

  

• Exceptional Red Panda Keeper Experience

  I booked this experience through my hotel in Chengdu. David was my local English-speaking tour guide and he was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive throughout. He gave a lot of information about local life (history, everyday life, and other interesting tidbits) and the red pandas (& giant pandas, too :). After the tour, David went above and beyond and was kind enough to show me around the Chunxi Road shopping area, showed me how to use the subway, and even made sure I made it back safely to the hotel when I decided to hang out for a bit. The driver was also top—very friendly with a new, clean electric vehicle. The tour itself was very enjoyable. This is a newer facility dedicated to just red pandas. We started first by feeding raccoons and rabbits. The director, David (who served as translator), and I then walked around the red panda enclosures, where I got a lot of cute photos. We then actually went inside two red panda areas, and a red panda came close to me, before it got scared off by my swinging shoulder bag :) I also helped to scoop up some of their poop, which was all part of the experience. We then had a yummy homemade lunch in the staff cafeteria and watched a documentary about red pandas, and animal conservation in general. The best parts came after lunch when I got to feed two red pandas briefly (under supervision) and take closeup photos next to them (no touching allowed), where a red panda also touched my shoulder :) We then had about 10 minutes in a small room where we watched a keeper interact with three young red pandas. They roamed the room like cats and came up close to smell us, which was the most exciting part! I highly recommend this experience, and David as a tour guide, for any animal or red panda lover! :)
