A holiday in Rome without visiting the Vatican is like a day at the beach without swimming in the sea. See the best of the Vatican museums and gain direct entrance with skip-the-line access to the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica, while our excellent guides entertain you with stories that go with each masterpiece.
This budget-friendly tour is the best value for money for travelers that are interested in 1) seeing the museum’s highlights 2) meeting a new friend or two through your group and 3) skipping the lines (trust us, with over 6 million tourist spilling into the museum every year, you'll want it!)
Disclaimer: you will be entering the Vatican museum during one of the busiest times of the day. While the tour provides skip-the-line access, the crowds in the museum vary from day to day and some delay with security can be expected (it would be misleading for other tour operators to not tell you this!)
Infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller
Public transportation options are available nearby
Suitable for all physical fitness levels
Unforeseen events= The Vatican is its own country and therefore the Pope can decide also last minute to close St. Peter’s Basilica for ad hoc events. It is a very rare event during the year but it is possibile and we will do our best to inform you. If it is too late to inform you, our guide will extend the tour in the Vatican. Not to worry that the incredibile collection of Vatican Museums and the masterpiece of Michelagelo in the Sistine Chapel will still be included.
Most of our tours include the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica. However, there are two specific options with different inclusions. You will find below:

Borgo
Meet your tour guide at our office, located in the oldest neighbourhoods of the Vatican, Borgo Pio. Following a self introduction by your guide, you will walk through the charming shops of the Borgo, as he/she shares some local tips for eating and site seeing in Rome, including off the beaten track sites that you must visit during your holiday! Some background will also be provided on the history of the Sistine Chapel (we do it here as the chapel forbids noise and travellers are expected to observe silence once entering).
Via Della Conciliazione
Admire the flags and surrounding embassies as you walk through this street, which serve as the primary access point to St. Peter's Square, and by extension, to the Vatican City itself.

This tour was NOT a Skip the line tour for the Vatican, museums or Sistine Chapel as it was advertised Tour began with 22 people. Our tour started at 3:30pm, last entry into the Vatican is 6pm. . After waiting in line for 2 hrs it was explained by the guide that the reason the lines were so long was because of the Jubilee (Holy Year) she sounded surprised that we were waiting so long but it made no sense that the tour company wouldn't know that 2025 was a full year celebrating the Jubilee . We finally entered the Vatican at 5:30pm We were then rushed through the Vatican. At times the guide was losing people on the tour which resulted in waiting for people to catch up. We were herded through the Vatican so quickly we had no real time to take in the beauty, history or sacredness. Entrance to the Vatican 5:30 exit from Vatican 5:55pm. 6 people left the tour upon exit as tour was already too long for them We then found out that we had to run to get to the museum before it closed which is why we were being rushed! Once we entered the museum we were again rushed through. During the museum tour 4 more people left the group. We finally made it to the Sistine Chapel. Before the tour ended outside the Sistine Chapel the tour group was down 6 more people including ourselves. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable , unfortunately we couldn’t hear her a lot of the time or we were chasing the group trying to keep up or just find the group, this made it difficult to focus on anything she was talking about. We weren’t the only ones to experience this issue. Unfortunately our tour guide was put in the position of having to argue with people at the entrance to the Vatican and the entrance to the museum to get our entire group entrance. We were all privy to these arguments via the earpiece I feel the tour guide was put in a terrible situation! It felt like she was just trying to push us through to each location so the tour company can say they did everything they said the tour would encompass. The tour company should know about Holy celebrations & plan times accordingly. Our tour said it would take 3 hrs. After waiting in all the lines we left the tour after 4.25 hrs. Most of this time was just standing in line. Extremely disappointed & I do not think we got what we paid for. Let me reiterate I think the tour guide was knowledgeable but during the chaos of rushing we really didn’t get much out of the tour.

You have to accept the fact that it’s going to be crowded like you’ve never seen. That’s why it’s important not to go there in the hot months of the year. Outside of that all fine.

I personally would never do a group tour of the Vatican. We felt like we were pushed through like cattle, if I or anybody stopped too long to take a photo or look at something we would lose the group. The earpieces did not allow for communication very well as opposed to the earbuds that we had when we did the Colosseum tour we could hear much better. Our guide Barbara was very nice. She did her best but I will always recommend to friends to go through on their own and listen to a guided tour through their phone from some other tour guide. That way they get down and enjoy things that they really like that could go off and do some of the side rooms that we were not allowed to go in or we were not taking in. I typically only leave about 10% of my reviews as negative, so I don’t do this lightly. I’m just being very honest and that was the sentiment of almost everybody in our group when it was over.

We were in Rome when it was 90 degrees with humidity: brutal. The regular line for the Vatican was so long, I would have given up seeing it. We got in quickly, the tour guide was so good and knew her stuff. Very enjoyable. So beautiful.
