A fascinating tour from Naples that will give you the opportunity to visit an ancient roman town like Pompeii, explained by a professional guide (2 h. 30 min), investigate the amazingly preserved infrastructures and artifacts. You will then drive up to 1000m of Mount Vesuvius which nearly destroyed the town in 79 A.D. Take the last 200m meters by foot and enjoy the panoramic 360degree views from the smouldering crater.

Pompeii was an ancient Roman city near modern Naples in the Campania region of Italy, in the territory of the comune of Pompei. Pompeii, along with Herculaneum and many villas in the surrounding area (e.g. at Boscoreale, Stabiae), was buried under 4 to 6 m (13 to 20 ft) of volcanic ash and pumice in the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79.

5.00Roberta was terrific. Very comprehensive tour of Pompeii. We stayed ahead of the crowds and were able to cover a lot of the city very effectively. The hike up Mt Vesuvius is fairly strenuous but you can go up as high as you would like. I am a 75 year old man in decent shape and made it to the top with just a couple breaks. About a 30 minute walk to the summit. Highly recommend this tour and our guide.

5.00Really enjoyed this one. We had a young girl guide who was very friendly and polite. The timing of everything was just right, not too short at sites and not too long. You could easily spend over a day walking all of Pompeii but our guide informed us well of the layout, why it was that way and the most really interesting buildings. He explained well the Pompeii before, during the eruption and the consequences of the Volcano eruption. The trip to the Volcano again was very informative. If you’re going to do this part then don’t be fooled by the photos advertising this tour. A leisurely walk uphill it is not. It is a steep climb on loose ash. We passed many who gave up. Take your time and wear sensible footwear. Again, the tour is timed just right to walk the length of the crater rim and back down again. All in all well timed, very informative and enjoyable.

5.00This is a wonderful tour. Roberta was energetic and knowledgeable and always good humored. There was a lot of walking involved which was half the fun! The site was amazing and we were glad to see it.
