A fascinating tour from Naples that will give you the opportunity to visit an ancient roman town like Pompeii, explained by a professional guide (2 h. 30 min), investigate the amazingly preserved infrastructures and artifacts. You will then drive up to 1000m of Mount Vesuvius which nearly destroyed the town in 79 A.D. Take the last 200m meters by foot and enjoy the panoramic 360degree views from the smouldering crater.

Archaeological Park of Pompeii
Pompeii was an ancient Roman city near modern Naples in the Campania region of Italy, in the territory of the comune of Pompei. Pompeii, along with Herculaneum and many villas in the surrounding area (e.g. at Boscoreale, Stabiae), was buried under 4 to 6 m (13 to 20 ft) of volcanic ash and pumice in the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79.

4.00It was a good, quick overview of Pompeii. I was disappointed that the guide skipped the Lupanar (brothel) although it was mentioned in the “what to expect” part of the full itinerary. Because of weather, our second (independent ) day in Pompei was last week and I purposely didn’t go here because I thought it was part of this guided tour. Having read “The Wolf Den” trilogy, I was looking forward to seeing this particularly.

4.00The ride to pompeii was safe and smooth, but also silent. There is no commentary about anything on the way, so be prepared for that. The driver also split my husband and I up and directed him to sit in the front so that wasn’t fun. Pompeii was amazing! After the driver dropped us off, Vincenzo brought us in and around the site while showing the highlights and explaining a lot about the archeological work in the past and what’s still ongoing. I loved it!!! It was the rainy season, and rained a lot, but for our trip, the sun came out and pompeii shined! Note: it was too rainy to do the Vesuvius portion as the road was closed, but I didn’t count that for or against the tour as they immediately issued a partial refund without any lengthy process needed
It was a great trip!

5.00A great day... the tour guide was wonderful, her knowledge of the fine details and the storytelling made the ruins come alive... we learned so much...The logistics of the overall tour simplified the trip, with ample time to experience both locations

5.00Daniella and Roberta guided our group through Pompeii and Mt Vesuvius. They could not be better. They shared the knowledge as a professional should. Highly recommend this experience and would request them if possible. Also, Giuseppe was an awesome driver and the bus was super comfortable.

5.00Brilliant day trip full of history with Roberta as our tour guide! Super easy meeting and drop off in central locations. Roberta was a great tour guide offering loads of great information whilst on our journey to each location. Starting off at Pompeii we were put into another group with Mimi as our guide- he was hilarious! Such an informative and engaging tour of Pompeii. Vesuvius was another great experience with great views, small shops throughout the walk up offering souvenirs and drinks- even a small glass of Tears of Jesus wine (Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio).
